Never tried it on DCL, but when the kids were small and we traveled we would pack a short string (75 or 100) of led lights like the ones made for Christmas trees in a muted color. The we had a small string of orange Halloween lights we used on several trips. The orange was a very muted light. We would plug them in and trail along a counter top. I know they make battery operated ones. They pack well with less chance of a blown bulb or broken light in checked luggage.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but "Seasonal and celebratory lighting strings" are on the Prohibited Items list.Oh I love this idea and he would LOVE that! I wonder if DCL would allow this? I could use the battery operated ones too.
