I wasn't sure which board to post this on - sorry if this isn't the best place.

We have room only AAA discount ressies through CR for WL Nov-Dec for 7 nights. We want to buy 10-day non-expiring hopper tickets. If we buy them through Disney, I know we have to pay for the tickets right away, but will it turn our reservation into a "package" and force us to pay the whole hotel amount up front too, or worse yet lose our AAA discount?

If that's the case, I guess we should go through Maple Leaf or the other recommended seller. I just wanted to keep it all through Disney if it was just a $20 or so difference for the 2 tickets. If we do that, would they still be able to add them to our room key card on arrival, or not?

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Yes it will turn it into a package & will have to be paid in full within 45 days. You will lose your AAA discount too.

Actually, just ask for the tickets as "Key to the World" and they can be added to your AAA reservation as a separate component. You will not lose your AAA rate and you still have the liberal cancellation period. You are correct; the tickets are paid for at the time they are ordered and you save off of the gate price if you add them at least a day before arrival.

Surfergirl is correct; you can add them without losing your rate or turning it into a package (you can even add air, too!). However, do make sure the agent understands you want them as "Keys to the Kingdom" tickets (tickets attached to your room key). The reason you need to be specific is this: the agents get commission on tickets, but do NOT get commission on KTTK tickets (unless they are the ones making the initial reservation). So, some agents *might* try to give you regular tickets so they get the credit for it. Be sure to get the agents stage name and write down the date and time you spoke with him/her, just in case. Oh, and I used to do this up until last month so, I know from whence I speak. ;)
