Adding more points

We currently have 200 points at VWL, and are considering adding 50-100 more points at the BC when available. I was wondering how this works regarding your home resort. Could you book a reservation using 250 points at either resort 11 months in advance, or would you have to wait until 7 months in advance to use that many points at BC?

You would have to wait till seven months to use all the points at either resort. At eleven months you will be able to use 200 at VWL and 50 at BCV. At seven months, you could swith all to one resort.

Points ALWAYS retain their home resort and you ALWAYS have to abide by the seven-eleven month windows.

Just a cautionary note. We are OKW members. We added on in November. The offer was that you could add 50 points if you wanted HH or VB. The minimum was 100 points for VWL.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same minimum applies when the BC becomes available.

Actually, I think the minimum only applies if you are financing. I believe the minimum add on is 25 points.

the minimum add on thru disney is 25 points...this has to be paid with cash or your own financing...if you want financing thru disney the minimum is 50 points....

We didn't finance, we paid it in full. Perhaps, in my case, the minimum was part of the Magical Beginnings offering.

I believe that the 25 point minimums that you are referring to apply to add-ons to your home resort. In this case, they're considering adding on at a different resort. I don't believe that I've ever seen an offer for an add-on of 25 points at another resort.

Yep, you can add on 25 points at another resort. Just doesn't get you very far....

Minimum add-on is 25 points at any DVC resort. Minimum is 50 at any DVC resort to use Disney financing. Minimum is 50 to get MB at VB and HH. Minimum is 100 to get MB at VWL.

The MB minimums have changed from time to time and could again- it used to be 100 minimum at any DVC resort.
