Yes, I still have Hotmail along with Gmail and AOL. :)

You would think its easy to download Hotmail.

NOT. Not even close. And even the Verizon techs can't do it. :confused3 Not kidding. Was there getting something else and they couldn't do it!!??

On my old droid, I could only get it through another app (canine I think?)

So since you guys know everything :thumbsup2 HOWWW do I do it?

It's making me crazy!!

TIA.

I added Hotmail to my iPhone and it wasn't all that difficult. I'm surprised that the Verizon techs couldn't do it. I have AT&T but it shouldn't make a difference.

  1. Go to Settings and scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Under Accounts, tap Add Account.
  3. You'll see a list of popular email providers. Scroll down and tap Other.
  4. Under Mail, tap Add Mail Account.
  5. Enter your information on the following screen and then tap Next in the upper right.

Thank you, i'll try that.

No, they couldn't add it. They actually DID list the name Hotmail under my emails but there's nothing in it. So how do I delete it (the name?) to try and re install?

Under Mail, Contacts and Calenders:
  • Tap the > next to Hotmail.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account

There is no "Delete Account" to tap.

I thought that's what I should see, similar to android (which I had two of) but that's probably the problem. Its not there. Nothing but Hotmail under Mail - with my gmail and AOL.

Sigh. Thanks so much. Any other ideas?

Could it be that Hotmail technically doesn't exist anymore? Everything has actually been converted to Outlook now. You can still go to Hotmail.com, but notice it immediately redirects you to Outlook.com.

yeah I am pretty sure that the iPhone now lists it as outlook which is the same thing just use that. Also there is always a delete account you just need to scroll to the bottom of that screen the previous poster mentioned to see the button. If all else fails (or if you really aren't feeling tech savvy enough) just take it to the apple store and they will do it for you

I just added hotmail to my iPhone 4 this past week (I have 3 emails installed) by going through the setup process Marionnette suggested to you. It initially kept giving me an error pop-up. I figured it was the 2-step verification I had setup on my hotmail account (the one that ask for a code to be sent to phone). Once I went into my hotmail account and turned it off, no problem.

Not sure what Verizon did to add Hotmail to list. Personally I would ignore that new link and start over via > Add Account > Other...

I've got hotmail on my iPhone and it's still listed as hotmail. I've never seen an app.

Little update:

Hotmail is working well on my iphone (thanks again!)

But now on my laptop, most everything is going to my junk file. :confused3

I really don't like Hotmail, but since it was my first email years ago, I still have it. Guess I should change everything to my gmail acoount. :scratchin :)

Awesome, you're very welcome! :thumbsup2

Laptop sounds like either a syncing issue between your multiple devices or a Microsoft server issue.

If it were me - I would uninstall hotmail off the laptop and reinstall it. Then see if the problem corrects itself.
