Do you think it would be a problem to add one person to ADR's for 4 (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) during free dining????

I think I can convince my mom to come, but I've already made my ADR's and don't think I'll be able to change them. Can we just show up with an extra person? Can my 1 yo sit on my lap and let her take his spot?

Try to change as many as you can; the ones you can't just show up and see.
I have to do this with two of mine, good luck to you.

Ditto on the advice above. I had to call and change all my ressies to add 2 people. Most I could with just a slight time difference. The one that I could only add one person too the CM told me to show up and see if they could accommodate me. She sounded like it probably wouldn't be a problem but I have yet to try it.

Has anyone tried this?

It really depends on the place and how crowded they are. Places like Le Cellier that are small, busy, and mostly have tables for 4 and smaller it will be tougher. Typically they do count babies as places but you might be able to convince them that you could hold him. If it's going from 3 to 4 it's much easier than 4 to 5 just because they don't seem to have a lot of larger tables. I know it was much easier for me to get ADRs when we just had 4 people rather than bigger groups.

I have that same problem. My Aunt may go and we have a Grand GAthering. So it will go from 13 to 14. Im just wondering if we can get her into all our ressies.

Please remember that the restaurants have fire codes and occupancy levels that go with these codes. Please try to call and add the person to your reservations.

I've changed all but 2 - I had to cancel my boma, but I'm not willing to cancel chef Mickey. I'll keep trying, and if not, I'll just show up I guess :confused3

We are facing this in September, my sister told me they *will try* to come down for the weekend while we are there, and send her kids to the parks with me and my mom. So mom and I are trying to figure out how to juggle the ADRS, because I KNOW there is no way I can add 2 to our Coral Reef ADR at this late date. One maybe, as we are already a party of 5. We already figured Playhouse Disney, my niece can come instead of my mom, and she can take my nephew to gather some fastpasses and ride some rides (I don't see an 11 year old boy TOO interested in dancing with JoJo and Goliath!)

Try to change as many now as possible. You can TRY to show up at the podium the day of dining and tell them your party 3 is now 4.usually, it is no biggie and they just make you wait till the next available table for your party size is avail.During free dining all usual bets are off. They may seat you, they may tell you No.I have seen people last year during free dining turned away from CP, Chef Mickeys, Coral reef and Le Cellier for this very reason.Free dining already causes back ups and delays at restaurants, so if everyone decided to add people at the last minute it would be crazy.Just be prepared in case they don't allow it.

Ok, what do you all think about going from 7 people to 8? My DM and her DB decided just last week that they are going to go and take my DN with them. We are going 9-27 thru 10-5 and I was able to change a couple ADRs to add them. Now my Brother has mentioned that he may want to go. The back story to this is that I made my original ADRS at the 180 mark, and about two months ago DH's DM said she wanted to go and take DH'S DB too. SO I called and changed as many ADRS at THAT time to accomodate 6. Then a week later, she changed her mind. I called BACK and by the grace of God, I was able to switch everything back to 4. Then I called back on Monday to add 3 more to as many ADRs as I could. It is getting down to the wire and DB is still not too sure if he will go, (he is trying to get into the National Guard and is not certain when he will enter basic, we are trying to convince him to take one more trip before going off).

Sorry for the novel, I am a little long winded in the morning I guess...:rolleyes1

Like I said, during free dining who knows? they may allow it , they may not.it is completely and totally up to the restaurant mgr and the podium cm that day. They may be able to accomodate they may not.I have seen people ok'd during free dining, and I have seen many told No.it simply depends.if it wasn't free dining , i would say you have an excellent chance.but free dining causes major delays and back ups to begin with.

Are you my husband??? :rotfl: He's a fire inspector and would totally say something like this!! :lmao: (and yes I would laugh at him just the same) :goodvibes

We're also going during free dining. I made all of my ADRs before DMIL decided to come with us. I'm going to continue to try and squeeze her in but also "just show up" as directed by CMs both at the reservation number and calling the restraunts directly. We do have a couple too many TS meals that we were just going to pay for oop - that problem may just be solved for us. :confused3 I really hope we can get her in on all of them.

For our non-free dining trip, we're going in Dec and are having a hard time adding 2 additional adults to a couple of our ADRs.

For the record for both trips is will be DH, me, DS4 and DS1. Sept we're adding DMIL and Dec we're adding two friends that are coming down with us. I'm hoping because DS1 will be in a high chair that we'll be able to squeeze at least DMIL in while we're there in Sept.
