Adding extra layer of security of hotel safe?

Does anyone know if it is possible to add extra layer of security to hotel safe?

They use a 4 digit code, bolted to floor, however they have a master code to unlock any safe

I enjoy room service but I get paranoid in case theft happens

I know you could leave Valuebles at front desk but would prefer my room

Anyone used like an extra bolt to the safe that you can add? Or is that inviting more attraction to what's Hiding in there

We have had the same thoughts as you. Although we have had nothing go missing we know people that have. Honestly anything of value we carry on us and precious jewellery I leave at home. We leave same amounts in the safe but nothing show stopping. I prefer investing in a good money belt! I like my things close to me.

We used the safe at AoA in December and the combination got scrambled. They had a specialist come to open it. It took him over an hour. I asked about a master combination and he said not at Disney. They have other ways of getting into the safe using special equipment that housekeeping doesn't have access to and aren't trained to use in any event.

Yeah I never had anything go missing in a safe but I have had my football top 'disappear' and 'coincidently' this restaurant half a mile up the road had it hung up on the wall along with other UK football team tops, and they ain't cheap lol to this day I swear the cleaner took it and sold it to that place but never did anything about it

Yeah just this year I am taking extra money that's all, I been told not to take cash but use card? But not sure if everywhere excepts card? Also with cash I can see what I'm spending and allows me to tip

Ah if I was staying at Disney I wouldn't be as worried but I'm staying off site and I remember the hotel I stayed at the safe jammed and some guy just turned up put in a 6 digit code rather than 4 and voila opened up, I saw him type the number as well so got me concerned as who else seen this number

Sorry abut your top. We have had clothes go missing too. Always like you say the expensive items.. We take cash. Had too many credit card scams occur now. We just carry it around.

I was thinking of carrying but knowing me I drop the lot

Might hide the money in a dirty tissue and rolled up in used underwear in suitcase who would think of touching that...

If Feel sorry for whoever takes my money from shops lol

DH has a money belt - it has a place inside to put money - plus we carry a backpack and the wallet always stays in there
