adding ddp to room

we checked in to por on 11/28 and tried to add plan on to room but was told no . does any know why they can't add it.

Because it has to be added outside of 72 hours from checkin. Also it cant be added to a room only if thats what you had, it has to be a MYW package

Unless you are a dvc member the only way to get the dining plan is if you purchase the Magic your way package. Packages include room & tickets.

If you really want the dining plan & depending on when you are traveling, you may want to call Disney to see how much it would cost for a package and you could just purchase one day tickets. You could use the ticket now, or save it for future use.
We are doing this when we go in Feb. (2 adults) I was going to book a room only, but knew we would be doing atleast one sit down meal a day & wanted the dining plan. We got in for the 7 for 4 promo with the $200 gift card upon check in. For us, I looked at the $200 gift card as paying for the tickets, plus about 1-2 days of our dining plan.

THey already checked in. You cant add DDP at check in

Changes to package reservations cannot be made at check-in. They must be made up to 3 days prior to check-in.

If you do not have a package reservation, you cannot add the dining plan to it - unless you are a DVC member or you are renting points from a DVC member. (DVC members can add the dining plan up to 2 days prior to check-in by calling Member Services.)

The WDW dining plans are a WDTC exclusive. Room only bookings are not WDTC packages. And as mentioned even with a WDTC package, a DDP would have had to be added (and paid for) 72 hours prior to arrival.
