adding DDP to DVC stay?

How do you add DDP to a DVC stay? the only info on Dining plan is at Allears,where it describes a whole package with room,etc.
What is the cost per person,if not getting a package with room/tix?

All you have to do is phone member services to add it on. You will not pay for it until you get to the resort. I don't think there is a difference in the prices.

Actually, if you were looking at the cost on All Ears and saw the dates with the price fluctuations that doesn't apply to DVC. They always pay the cheaper rate. I called membership to verify. it is $41.99 for adults.

At least that is the way it is for 2010 but no one knows for sure if this will continue in 2011. Some feel the price was set with DVC before Disney decided on seasonal pricing.

I hope that it stays the same as it is nice saving that little bit of extra. If someone has a 2011 trip booked, I don't believe they are adding DDP's yet because the price is not set.

I think other changes are coming, as well. Don't know if this is still in the rumor phase, or if it's official. When I booked our dining plan for our May trip, the Member Service cast member told me they'll be switching to pre-payment for the dining plan. You'll have to pay for it when you add it to the reservation, rather than at check-in.

So...how will that work if you have to prepay and you've rented points..GROAN...if I add now, will I have to prepay for a march trip...I imagine they can't make it retroactive.

Have one person that may become a no show...which is the only reason I haven't added yet...also waiting to see if they drop desserts.

Any words of wisdom out there?

You can not add it now for a March 2011 trip, as the prices for 2011 have not yet been released. If the new system is in place and requires pre-payment when you book, you'll need to arrange with the DVC owner some sort of payment, likely sending them a paypal payment for the plan, befiore they add it to the reservation, then they could bill it to their personal credit card. Of course, if they require the reservation name and credit card to match, that may effectively end adding DDP to rentals.

Right now, nobody knows, and the new system is not expected online until at least this Fall.
