I'm headed to WDW in less than 2 weeks! I want to book the room only bounceback offer while I'm there. I know that RO bookings can be converted to packages when adding tickets and/or DDP at the time of booking.

I might add DDP at a later date depending on who ends up going. So when I call to book, do I have to specifically say that I want a "ticketless package" booking vs. a room only booking? I'll have an AP, so I won't need tickets.

Yes, I think you can add the dining plan up to 3 days before the first day of your stay. Since once you add tickets to a room, it becomes a package, and thus, adding dining would not change the package status you have with the tickets and room.

It is much easier to add a dining plan to a package so if you are thinking of adding one, it would be better to call and book a ticketless package. It will follow all the rules of a package even though you don't have tickets or a dining plan at this time so be aware of the pay in full deadline (30 days before arrival) and any penalties/fees for changes made after the final payment date.

If you book a room only reservation and decide you want a dining plan later, you would have to book a package and cancel the room only and there's no guarantee that the room you want will be available at that time.
