Adding DDP after booking Cinderella's Royal Table

OK, so we booked all of our dining 'excursions" as soon as we hit our 6 month window. Yeah, I'm a little OCD about Disney planning.

I juast added the DDP after I got my Disney Rewards card. So I used the Rewards card points to purchase the DDP.

Now, b\c I booked the Royal Table a while ago, I put it on my credit card. I asked when I would be refunded and the CM told me when we got to the meal. Otherwise they would have to cancel my resi and try to re-book it, at which point, it might not be avaialble.

This doesn't seem right to me as folks might be paying interest on their c\c.
Anyone know if this is how it's supposed to work?

Personally, my balance was paid off so it's not a big deal, but I'm still bothered if WDW can't simply swap the DDP for the C\C.

Unfortunately, the CM was correct. And if you cancel and rebook, you risk losing the ADR altogether.

Can't you try to book a new ADR, and that will give you an idea if the time is available? Then call and cancel and rebook. If it shows available to book before you log in to the system, the likelyhood someone would grab it in the minute the CM cancels before booking.

Sounds reasonable. It just doesn't make sense to me. I understand the necessity to take a cc bor the resi, but I'm switching the payment is all. Seems like a system flaw. I'm guessing there's not enough complaining about it to fix it though. I'll probably call the dining folks just to see. It's a real kick in the shins b\c you buy the meal plan AND I ahve $200+ tied up in a reservation.

I booked my vacation and the first ressie I made online was CRT for dining. Well, I gave them the credit card and it was charged the full amount.

Later I thought, let me call and have it switched to the DDP. I had the same issue. They had to get me a new reservation and then canceled the original. Thankfully, they had one other time slot 5 minutes before my original.

I don't understand why they can't simply take the same reservation and change the method of payment from credit card to DDP.
