Adding Days to Tickets?

I have a few questions I would appreciate getting some help on.

We are planning a 7 day trip with a rest day in the middle. Thus 6 park days. The hotel res (Swan) is for 8 days and thus covers all the park days and rest day. Thus 6 day tickets should work. My kids are young adults and I would not be surprised if they decide on the spur of the moment to visit a park on the supposed rest day. So I would need to add a day to the their tickets while we are there.

I have read the DIS thread on this http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tickets.htm#faq and am going from that.

Question #1 - If I am reading this above link correctly then I can just buy an additional day from 6 days to 7 (currently $10 plus tax per ticket - the price difference between a 6 and 7 day ticket on the WDW site). Is this correct?

Question #2 - Regarding the Famous/Infamous FP+...I am making FP+ reservations over the six days and skipping the rest day. Which I read is fine as long as the hotel res covers those days which it will. When one adds a day to tickets then has anyone had a problem with disruption to existing FPs on those tickets?

Question #3 - If I add the day say the day before the scheduled rest day will it show up in MDX that day so we can take a shot at getting FPs for the next day without the kiosk approach day of?

Thanks!

1. Yes, just add on the additional day to the ticket.
2. FP data is separate from ticket data in MDE - adding a ticketed day does not affect the selected FPs.
3. Yes. The ticket entitlement will be added to your MDE ticket data thus giving you one more day to select FPs. Total days of booked FPs can be equivalent to the number of ticket entitlements - you can have less days of FPs, you just can't exceed the number of days of ticket entitlements.

You shouldn't have any trouble. Seems most of the time there is a FP problem its because in some way the resort reservation changed i.e. adding dining, paying to upgrade room, changing resort choice. Given that your resort is right between Epcot and DHS I would pretty much guarantee the kids will want that extra day. My kids would be at DHS at opening to ride ToT and RnR. When the older 2 were 17 & 15 they would do that while I took 8 yr old to MK.
