Hello!

For our upcoming trip at the end of March, we currently have 4 Disney Days planned (2 MK, 1 EP, 1 DHS) and are staying on site. On our last day we were planning on checking out and then checking in that night to one of the Universal hotels and doing the next day at Harry Potter World. With the outrageous price of a 1 day park hopper at Universal, we're considering just skipping Universal this time and just extending our Disney stay so we can have a more relaxed trip there and do more at Disney (add an AK day and probably do another DHS). We have not bought our Universal ticket yet, so we're good there and we can cancel the Universal hotel with no issue.

We have already bought our Disney park tickets for 4 days, my question is, can we extend those to 6 days after we've already bought them (this is done in the park/hotel, correct?) and will we just be charged the difference of what it would've cost to buy 6 day tickets online with what we already paid for 4 days? It wouldn't be that much of a price difference, so that would be great! If we decide to do this and stay, we'll need to switch hotels though, as CBR is full for the 3 additional nights we'd needs. It looks like Port Orleans would be available for us to go to for those nights. Or we could cancel CBR and book All Star Music for the full stay. Will adding a hotel or canceling and booking a new hotel mess up any ADRs or Fast Passes? We already have our ADRs booked for the 4 days we currently have booked, and our fast passes are eligible to start booking next Wednesday.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan.... so I'm not sure I even want to do this. But the savings plus TWO additional days at Disney would be amazing. Convince me to stay at Disney!! LOL

If you call Disney, they might be able to help you with extending tickets. I'm not sure though. ADR's won't be effected if you change hotels. Fastpasses won't be effected if you change hotels.

Thanks! I'm worried about losing any ADRs or fast passes if we flat out cancel our CBR reservation and re-book All Star Music. I'm thinking the safe bet might be to keep CBR res and then do the rest at Port Orleans.

If you book your fastpasses then decide to change, there is a chance your fastpasses will be deleted. That is Disney has started catching people canceling and then booking off-site hotel stays after the 60-day window. I would call Disney if you want to switch since they can make it a very easy transition.

Thank you! Our fast passes can be booked one week from today, so I see a MAJOR planning session happening over the next few days so I can figure out whether to add a hotel or call and have Disney switch it for us before booking fast passes. I've stayed at an All Star before, so I was excited about something different. I'm going to head over to the hotels board and do some research!

Called Disney this morning and we were able to extend our stay at CBR for the full length of time, which means no switching hotels! Yay! CM confirmed that to upgrade our park tickets from 4 day to 6 day, we'll need to do that at guest services. So that's the plan! 6 full days in Disney - super excited!! The only slight bummer is that I can only book fast passes for 4 days at our 60 days from arrival date since that's what my tickets are currently for, but we'll upgrade at the hotel the night we get there so I can do the remaining 2 days then (so about 5 days in advance instead of day of fast passes, slightly better). I'm going to book all of our major rides for the 4 days we have access to now (7DMT, FEA, the mountains, etc) and our last 2 park days will be more go with the flow - browse WS at EP, maybe try for a TT FP too, meet characters, that kind of stuff.

I did the math, and skipping 1 day in Universal but adding 2 more to Disney will save us almost $600 - that's just the hotel/park ticket difference, doesn't include food so savings will be slightly less since vacation is 1 day longer now, but will still save and our Disney vacation will be more relaxed now. We'll do Universal another time in the future (and do it for at least 3 days to get our money's worth). Kids will be older and probably enjoy it more if we wait anyways.
