Okay, so I'm sure this question has been asked before but I've done searches and can't find the answer.

I bought a 7 day ticket online from Disney (I know, should have done UT, whoops :faint:) for our upcoming trip in Sept. I wanted to do it before a potential price hike. Our dates have changed a bit and we'll be going for longer - yay! - and now I would like to add days to our tickets so I can get FP+ before we go. We'll be staying on property with DVC points, so I don't have a package. In the past, when I have gotten a package, I've just called Disney to add days to our tickets.

Since I bought tickets only online, can I still call and add days to those tickets?

When you buy tickets that are NOT part of a WDW Resort package, you can't upgrade in advance.
Sorry.

Yep. Thanks, Robo.

I was thinking that was the case. Well, we'll just mix in some "winging it" days. It'll be good for me

And I'll get to see what it's like to do a same day FP+. And there are some parks where FP+ isn't so critical for us. Like Epcot.

Jumping on your thread for a similar question:
Robo - If I buy tickets from UT, can I add a day to the tickets during our trip? I want a resort-only day during the middle of our trip, but we have family arriving on that day and we might go to one of the parks in the evening.

I'm not Robo, but yes, you can add a day during your trip. Just make sure you use the ticket first because that allows you to preserve your discounted price. (What I mean is, they'll charge the difference between the gate price of the ticket you have and the one you want, rather than the price you paid.)

And note you can only add days up to a total of 10. If you have a seven-day ticket, for example, you could only add up to three additional days.

Thanks Siskaren!!
So if I'm understanding you correctly, I can make my 5-day PH a 6-day PH but only on the 5th day?
I've planned our park days to be Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. If we go on Wed , then I'll need to visit concierge on Thurs to add a day, right?
And I don't want Disney to charge me for a full price 1-day PH because we ordered the tickets from UT.

No 10-day tickets here!:rolleyes1
But thanks for the tip.

You can add to your ticket at any point in time once you're on-site. You only need to use the ticket once in order to retain the benefit of any discount. Therefore, you can upgrade as soon as you walk through the gate on the first day. BUt if you aren't sure you'll need to the extra day, you can wait until the last valid day of your ticket before you upgrade.

You can add the day to the ticket on the first day you visit, and make FP+ reservations for the final day at that point. Or for whichever day you don't have FP+ reserved. It does NOT have to be same day FP+.

I'd actually recommend AK rather than Epcot as your day to make FP+ after you arrive. I've always been able to get FP+ for any attraction at AK within a few days of a visit. Not so at Epcot.

Since you don't have to make FP for the first X days of your trip, you can just make FP for the days where you want to go on the most difficult to get FP. I'd say you can definitely wait to do AK. Depending on how many days you want to go to MK and which rides you were going to do, you might even be able to wait for one of those. In September, I'd expect you'd be able to pretty much get most of your FP of choice after you get there with the exception of Anna/Elsa and 7D. You might need a little time flexibility for a few others but you'll be fine!

Thanks for those strategies! I'll have to think about AK vs Epcot. At AK I need Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris. Epcot all I really want is Spaceship Earth and Test Track. We'll be doing multiple days at Epcot, maybe AK. So, we'll see!

I'm confused by this post. We are using a DVC room gifted to us by a member. I bought our 3 day PH tickets online. If we change our mind after I book flights and add a park day, I'm unable to buy park tickets for an extra day? Please explain

When you are at WDW, you can add on an additional day.

It's the "packaged" people who can add on days prior to their arrival. Disney just adds on digital info to their package.

Your tickets are separate so just plan on adding a day at a Guest Relations window.

I'm 90% sure I've upgraded tickets purchased separate (from disney) by calling.

We're going for 14 nights and will have probably 2 non-park days but would like to be able to have 12 park days.
