Adding days to a reservation

booked our first trip yesterday (yay!!!)

I'd like to add a few days to the end of the trip. There is availability online. If I booked online, would it show up as two reservations or would it merge them? (Same resort and room type)

To add days is it best to call instead?

It will be better to call because MS can link the two reservations together if the reservations are at the same resort and room type.

If you call MS, they can modify the check-out date to extend the existing reservation (subject to availability).

If you do it on-line, it will be a separate reservation and you would need to contact MS to have them link them together.

I make a second reservation online then send MS an email, they add the second reservation to the first and there is only the original reservation number to deal with.

Better than waiting on telephone hold IMO.
