We may be heading down to disney a day early because of a storm coming right on the day we were going to head on down (driving)
am I correct that I can add another day of park tickets to my reservation? it should only cost another $10 and change. from a 5 to 6 day base ticket.

We aren't staying on property that extra day though (no availability and much cheaper off property for the night) will that matter?

would I call and add it to our magic bands or do it at the park?
thanks!

You have to do it there and before the last day ends.

what if I am adding the extra day to the beginning of my trip?

The tickets don't have dates on them so it doesn't matter when you do it. As long as it's before the end of the final day. You should enter a park before adding the day to lock-in the current price.

Edit - I just reread your first post. Your first night is offsite, what about the rest? If the rest are onsite and you have a package, you can call to add a day. You'll have to go to Guest Relations for an early ticket pickup.

thank you.
One more questions, we have been many times before but never with magic bands, so are you saying that our magic bands will work on the extra day and don't need to be "activated" at the resort?
if I understand you right we can go to the park on the extra day we are adding and then the night before our last night add the last day on

I think as long as you haven't assigned a fast pass to a specific day then you are fine.

I'm still on the newer side of magic bands, but that is how I have understood it.

thank you.

Are you on a package or did you buy the tickets separate? If you are on a package, I think you have to go to guest relations first. If your tickets are separate, you can go right in.

I don't think you understood (or maybe you missed) the first part of KTwiegs' question. Magic Bands don't need to be activated to make them work. You are correct about having to go to guest relations (or maybe guest services, I can't remember which it is) to get the tickets activated if they're part of a package and you want to use them before the package starts, but nothing needs to be done to the Magic Band - they're just a link to access what's on a person's MDE account.

I'm sorry, I think I am more confused…
our original tickets are to start on the 24th to the 28th (5 day base ticket) but we maybe want them to start on the 23rd but still go till the 28th (6 day base ticket.
So would I just swipe my magic band the 23rd and then add the 28th on later?
does the magic band need to be activated in any way before I scan it to enter the park on the 23rd?

That's correct, it's not the magic band that is an issue, it's the tickets linked to them. I first thought they were staying offsite the whole time.

Right, it's not the magic band that's an issue, it's the tickets linked to them. I first thought they were staying offsite the entire time, which would mean the tickets were separate.

Since you are on a package and arriving a day early, you have to go to guest relations and request your tickets early. The band itself does not need activated.

Does anyone know if I can do this to a two day ticket?

One other thing to note is that while it costs just $10 plus tax to add a day to a 4-day or longer ticket, adding a third day to a two-day adult ticket will cost $83 plus tax.

2. does the magic band need to be activated in any way before I scan it to enter the park on the 23rd?

1. No. You need to go to Guest Services (or Guest Relations - I'm not sure which) and do an early ticket pick up. Then at some point before the 28th you can add an extra day.

2. No. Magic Bands don't need to be activated - they're just a means to access what's in your MDE account.
