Adding another day for late flight?

Alright, so I called MS this morning. There were no cash rooms available at the BWV for the night we check out. They had a few rooms at BCV for $400 a night with the discount. I never appreciated being a DVC member so much.

Regardless, I think we finally have a plan. The day we check in we aren't landing in Disney until 10pm. So the first night we will check into a standard view studio just to sleep (not sure why I wasn't considering this a wasted day). We will check out the next morning and check into our 1BR. I was worried about our room choice checking in so late anyway, so this will work out even better. I can justify spending the 21 points, I couldn't justify the 47.

Thanks to everyone for the great ideas! :worship:

Great...sounds like a wonderful plan. Have a great time!!!

Yes, that is exactly what we are doing. We are checking in at 10:30 and heading straight to Jellyrolls. We wont even see our room until 2am. We will wake up the next morning, check out and re-check into our 1BR. Then we will head to the MK while our room is getting ready. It wont put us out of our way at all.

We will save 47 points not checking into the 1BR the first night. And add the day on at the end of the trip with those 47 points. It will still come out to an additional 21 points for the standard studio the first night. But I can live with the 21 points.

Now I think I confused myself ;)

Sounds like a plan!:thumbsup2 Will you be in Kidani or Jambo or both? I have found changing rooms at Jambo to be the easiest of all the DVC's. Knowing you will be on the 5th floor and if your room is ready before you check out of the first, it's a really easy move. So far I have been pretty lucky at Jambo and our room is always ready. Concierge is easy too, just move from 5th floor to 6:wizard:

I dont like to be homeless either on the last day. Most people view the last day as a "wasted day", but for me, it is a really important day. 1 I am already relaxed from being on vacation and I dont want the abrupt reentry that the 11 am checkout gives when our ME pickup is not til 6pm. That is a really great time to have coffee on the patio, hang out at the pool for lunch, and by 2pm, I am so glad to have a room to nap in or relax in for a few more hours while waiting for pickup time. I get to the airport relaxed and rested, enjoy a glass of wine, take another nap on the plane and I am ready for work the next morning. That extra day allows me to not waste vacation days so it is worth it to me.:wizard:

It sounds like you've got it figured out.

However, for the future...we've taken a nice long break in the Bellevue Lounge on our checkout day waiting for the ME time.

It was quiet, empty, and very restful. ;)

You can almost take a nap.

You guys are great, thanks for the support! Sometimes you just need to write everything out for it to click.

We are actually staying at the BWV. AKV is our home resort and we had that booked first though. DW actually still thinks we are staying at the AKV, but I switched over to BWV to surprise her (I have no idea how long I can keep that one a secret). Nothing against the AKV, the AKL is why we bought into DVC. We just really like the atmosphere and surroundings of the BWV right now.

It is so refreshing seeing someone else with that attitude. Since its just DW and I we tend to tour Disney differently then most people. We are up very late and tend to relax in the morning and get a late start on the parks. It's seems like a lot of people think relaxing in Disney is a sin. And you just planned out my last day to the tee! From the coffee on the patio to the glass of wine and a nap home. :cloud9:
