Adding Adult to Stateroom that Currently Has 1A 1C?

I have a stateroom booked already with one adult and one 13YO. I'm adding an adult to the room. They are insisting on bumping the 13YO down to the 3rd person spot and adding the new adult in the second spot. This then applies "prevailing rates" (today's rates) to both the 13YO and the new adult.

I get applying prevailing rate to the new person. But my 13YO was already booked on this cruise, and was paying a full adult fare at that point. I am not happy that they are now increasing his fare.

Anyone have experience with this? Pretty specific set of facts, I know.

I booked through costco, and the costco agent is arguing with Disney about it, but they are not budging.

I agree the new adult would pay the current rate, and the 13 year old should be paying the cost of a 13 year old, 3rd person rate for an adult. Now, whether THAT rate would current rate or the rate they would have been on the original reservation, I'm not sure.

I got this information some time ago, but I'm fairly certain it's still accurate:
How Disney Cruise Line Pricing Works
All cruises are priced based on two adults in the stateroom. So, even if you are one adult traveling with a child, the price is the same as if there were two adults in the stateroom. After the two adult price, the third and fourth passenger in the stateroom are charged a lower rate. If you are traveling alone, DCL will charge you 100% of the second adult's cruise fare (not including port fees and taxes) in addition to the full fare for the first adult.

**NOTE** Teenagers will be Charged adult fares (13-17). Child rates apply to ages 3-12. Children ages 0-2 pay 50% of the child rate.
This does not impact access to areas of the ship that are designated as "18 and over" (like the Spa, Adults only pool, and Palo).

I agree it doesn't sound logical.
Will they allow a name change for the 2nd passenger? A name change shouldn't result in a new fare. Change the name from the 13-yr-old to your DH. Then a week later add the teen as 3rd passenger at the prevailing rate.
