Adding additional room after free dining expires

We are leaving 2/2 and my in-laws are thinking about joining us last minute. We are booked under the free dining promtion. Are we able to add them to our reservation in another room and qualify for free dining?

Just called CRO and they said "no" it would have to be a separate reservation therefore they couldn't get the free dining. Anyone have a different answer? I know sometimes the CM's don't give all the correct answers.

I was going to post when I saw your update - what the CM told you when you called is correct. The second room would be a second reservation and, since the offer is expired, no, they can not get free dining.

But they may be able to use the 35% off room rate. That would save something, anyway.

Unfortunately, as pp stated, you cannot branch your current FD reservation out by adding on another (extra) room...this would make it a separate reservation ineligible for FD.

However, you can add them on to your reservation in another room. Make sense? That is, if you dont mind them staying in a room with you.

You are allowed to switch to another resort/room (i.e., FtW cabin, villa) to fulfill the occupancy requirements. Of course this is subject to availability since Disney only releases a certain amount of rooms during FD. Regular CRO CM's do not have access to check or modify an expired room/rate; they will have to put you on hold and contact Guest Relations to have it modified. They did it for me in 08. I switched from WL to FtW cabin and added on 2 extra guests way after the promo expired.

If you get a CRO CM who tries to argue that this cannot be done, hang up and keep calling back until you find one who can.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured that would be the answer but never hurts to ask. Are you aware of any discounts available for 2/2? Everything I see starts 2/17. I know it is VERY last minute, just hate to see them pay rack rate if there is something out there. Thanks!
