Adding Additional People To Reservation SW

DH and I already have our flights booked, but if a wonderful DING comes out, we promised the kids we would have them join us on our anniversary trip in October.

I'm not exactly sure how to cancel out reservations and then add new when a ding comes out. How do you get your ticketless travel funds? Do you have to keep 2 windows open and cancel one and book the other at the same time?

Yes I use the 2 windows method when switching between a regular flight and a Ding (well I use 2 different browsers just the way I have my Dings set up).

When I see the Ding ,I go to cancel the other flight right up to the point of the summitting it.

Then go back and go through the Ding (this is important to make sure it's still available).Stop right at the pay part ( remember to add the Kids when doing the amount needed) I then put in the Confirm number as thats what it will be for the TTV .

I then switch back and hit the cancel .once that screen pops back up .It's back over and hit the summit on the other.

This seems like alot but it only takes a minute or so.

Not sure how to convert to a Ding fare but as far as adding more people, it is easier and less error prone to just make a new separate reservation for them.

In addition, by making the kids' reservation separately you should at least get the Ding fare for them. As opposed to making new ressies for everyone and at the moment you click the "book" button there aren't enough Ding seats left on the flights and the whole thing rejects.

Someone else will have to answer the question, "Does the computer system claim the (Ding) seats when you select the desired flight and move on to the next screen where you fill in everybody's names, or not until you click the book button in which case a last minute rejection can happen?"
