We were planning a spring break trip to San Diego arriving March 31, but airfare was so much cheaper arriving mid week. Now we're going Wednesday March 28th with 3 days to kill... I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND! It was very convoluted how it ended up, so we already have tickets booked to fly in at 8 am Wednesday in San Diego and then we'll rent a car and drive up after rush hour. I booked us a fairly reasonable room at the Park Vue Inn, happy about free breakfast and parking. Then we'll drive back to San Diego Saturday evening and check into our condo for another week of fun.

This is a fairly spur of the moment trip for us, I usually plan at least 6 months ahead. I was just there in November for a girls trip and now get to take my family (6 yo DD's first trip! 9 yo DS's 2nd time). I'm preparing myself for spring break crowds and construction walls, but any time at DL is better then everywhere else!!

We always visit family in San Diego (Where I'm from) and then drive up to DL. Just make sure that you leave San Diego by no later than 1pm on the day you are traveling up or you will likely sit in traffic for hours!
Sounds like a really fun trip! Have fun!

When do you think morning traffic dies down on a Wednesday? Our flight lands at 8am but I figure we need to kill a little time before we hit the freeway.

It really depends. You might be OK by the time you get you bags and the rental car. Just check an app like Google Maps or Waze.

On a week day morning around 945am is usually a safe time for the 5 North.
