I would like to add a night to the beginning of our trip. We decided to fly in the night before our first park day instead of the morning of. My week in June is already filled for Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom is filling up, although not on our days. Can I add a day to the beginning with out messing with the rest of my reservation? I would like to be in the same room the whole time if possible. Is this a call disney sort of thing?

I would definitely call Disney. If there is availability they can make a note on your reservation that you want to stay in the same room, etc.

It's possible, but not guaranteed with those sorts of things. We actually did this exact thing (flying in the night before) on our last trip in September, but not by choice. Our red eye flight got cancelled and we were forced to fly out the day before. Coming from California, it takes all day even if we leave early, so it sucks and that's why we wanted the red eye to get in in the morning for once.

We ended up staying at a Hampton Inn in Orlando and driving into to Disney early in the morning. We wanted that magical arrival day to happen during the day. Since we got in at 9 PM, it made sense anyway.

Adding a night to your resort reservation, or an add-on 1-night reservation, will not impact your theme park reservations/plans. Neither will adding a day to your ticket.

It should be noted that if you add a resort stay that is NOT part of your larger reservation, you can't simply add a day to your park tickets like you used to be able to. They'll make you buy a 1 day ticket for that day. I tried to do this for my current trip and they wouldn't let me.

Back in 2017, we added 2 days of park tickets to the end of our trip. You MIGHT still be able to do this, but my understanding is if you change rooms, your ticket length resets. Of course, this could just be for bookings before your trip (as in this situation) rather than end of trip changes.

I have a DVP working with me (not that we need her, but we love her and we like that she gets paid) and this is what she explained to me when we wanted to do a split stay on this trip.

Disney wouldn't let us get a 7 day ticket with a 4 day stay in one hotel and a 3 day stay in another. Disney was going to make us get a 4 day ticket and a 3 day ticket.

I have a split stay coming up in May. I made quite a few changes as I was firming up my plans and the online system allowed me to add a day to my Contemporary reservation, but not remove days from Pop. So I’d try to see if you can modify online before braving the long hold times on the phone.

I just did this, added one night to the beginning of our June stay. We booked over the phone, the promo we originally used is no longer available but they were able to add a night at the current rate & then we had to input the new confirmation number on our app. It is showing as two reservations but the CM was kind enough to note that it is indeed one stay & request that we stay in our room rather than “check out & back in”

I called a basic Disney phone number and got on with 110 minute estimated wait time. I tried to change it on My Disney Experience. They said call 407-939-4357 my estimated wait time for that number was 20 minutes. I don't know the name of the guy who helped me but he had to call into guest services because I had a standard room and it would only let him add a preferred. Guest services figured it out though and my day shows up in My Disney Experience and my park reservations are still there. I did not try to add another park day because we land at 8 p.m. that might have been what saved me. Thanks all!
