I am able to extend my visit!
That's good news but I'm having problems adding a night to my reservation. I booked through Expedia.

I am staying at POR and I can book a separate reservation for the one night I want to add. Expedia system is not allowing me to add it to the existing reservation, it is a separate booking.

Anyway, is this a big problem? I would like to stay in the same room and I don't want to have to check out of the room and into another.

Also, I hope I don't have problems with the magical express.

Has anyone been through this type of problem?

Instead of trying to do it on Expedia's web site, try calling them and speaking to a human, who will probably be able to handle this for you.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I did speak to a live person at Expedia. They can't add to my reservation. There's a complicated reason behind this particular reservation.

I could try to book a separate booking through Disney. Maybe they can put them together??...not sure

I think your only option is going to be to rebook the entire trip and cancel your previous trip. I don't think Disney is going to modify your original reservations from Expedia, they wouldn't when I booked through Orbitz.

Because you made the reservations through Expedia, they "own" the reservation so any modifications will have to be made with them. Disney will not be able to speak to you about the res.

Once you arrive at POR you can let the check in desk know that you have a continuing reservation starting the next day and you would like to remain in the same room. It is only a request and there is no guarantee, but as much as possible they will try to honor the request. Both reservations must be for the exact same room category.

DME will not be a problem. You will receive 2 packets - one for the first reservation and another for the second reservation. Just check to make certain the first packet has the correct arrival info and the second one has the correct departure info.

I booked a trip through my authorized Disney specialistTA. The last night was not available at my booking. I kept checking, and the night popped up. It had to be a whole nother reservation. Hence, 2 sets of magic bands.

Hey, that's true! I have two magic bands. I ended up booking the extra night by itself on the Disney website.
What am I going to do with two magic bands? What is your plan?

Get two different colours and match them to your outfits.

I am happy that I got to add a day to my trip. I don't think I will have any issues with magical express since it is linked to your flight time. I am mostly concerned about checking in and out twice (moving rooms). Also, I don't want two magic bands. Is there a way to request not using a magic band? We are going to Universal on the first day we arrive so we won't need it.

If you are booked for the same category/view in both reservations you shouldn't have to move. As for your second set of Magic Bands you don't have to use them if you don't want to, but I would take them regardless because I've had issues in the past with split stay bands not working correctly to unlock the door to my room.

I agree with this. Even if you have the same room category booked, you could be assigned different rooms since it is 2 separate reservations. Like this poster stated, Disney will do everything they can to accommodate you, but there is no guarantee you won't have to change rooms.

Good tip about the room not unlocking. I didn't even think of that! I'll keep this in mind. After a long day at the park I don't want to deal with being locked out.

We each got 2 different colors. My daughter painted on them. Me- mike/sully on green, ds-nemo on orange, dd-buzz, dh- fp symbol.
