We booked a free dining bounce back offer and are staying at BWI August 22-28. Then found a cheap flight on the evening of the 21st so we got a room only at ASMovies for the night and were just going to uber over first thing in the morning. Now DH and I think it would be worth the price difference to just be at BWI the whole time and have the extra dining plan credits that night would give. I've called twice the last week and CM says they are booked but each time told me to keep trying back as people are always changing plans. Does anyone have experience with this? I don't mind calling each day to check if the odds are in my favor but don't want to get my hopes up or waste my time if theres really no chance. Was anyone able to add dates that were originally sold out closer to their trip?

You might get lucky at the end of July when the 30-day penalty kicks in for those dates...

Hi, sponica. Off topic as far as resorts, but I am still trying to find a Pop Century Resort roll-in shower room for one night in December between my split stays from Pop to BWV. I will have to remember the 30-day thing.

Are there any other days that might be good to recheck for availability?

I have been checking every day with no luck for a Pop roll-in shower for 12/8/2019. And no availability for any rooms at Pop for 12/8/2019.

Good luck as we are trying to add one more day at the end of our stay in Aug and am getting told the same thing, no rooms available but when I go on the web I am finding availability.........frustrating.....good luck!

Wow that would be super frustrating. When I check my my date online there's no availability. Hope we both get lucky, guess I will just keep trying.

Try calling on Tuesday mornings. I have had very good look finding what I am looking for on Tuesday mornings. Yes it is easeier to check online but CMs have access to a larger inventory of rooms when you call.

Hi, Dave006. I didn't know that. Thank you. I'll do that in the morning at 0700. I'll try my ADR for BWV at 0600 online.

I hope this isn't a silly question, but what is the 30 day penalty? I am continually watching the Disney World site for better deals on the room that we got, but I usually have stopped looking when 30 days out. Are there some good deals / availability to be had when booking less than 30 days out, with no option for cancellation? We are staying at All Star Movies from Aug 11 to Aug 16. I've been looking for deals on the same room, or even at other resorts to do a split stay (Maybe go to Art of Animation for a day or two before or existing reservation, as we will already be in Florida..) If I'm looking for a room for Aug 9, should I start looking on July 9/10 timeframe? Any deals to be had, or does availability at full rack rate open up?

I didn't know either so I did a Google search.

Canceled Hotel = Canceled FastPass+ Reservations
Disney World will cancel your FastPass+ reservations if you cancel your hotel reservation.
In the past, “enterprising” Disney World fans could book a hotel room at a Disney World Resort to take advantage of the 60-day FastPass+ window. Their intention was to cancel the reservation within the 30-day FastPass+ window without penalty and keep those valuable FastPass reservations they made at 60 days out. They would ultimately find a cheaper off-site hotel and often retain their 60-day FastPass+ selections.

What is Disney's cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 29 days to 2 days prior to arrival have a cancellation fee of $200 per package, but if reservations are canceled 1 day prior to arrival or later, the full package price is non-refundable.

When Payment Is Due
Disney allows guests to book Disney World vacation packages with a deposit of just $200, due at the time of booking – if the scheduled start of the visit is more than 45 days away. Disney requires that guests pay their balances in full by 45 days before the first day of their reservations.

Say in December you make a Disney World reservation for a trip starting February 14th. When making the reservations, you could either pay just the $200 deposit or pay the entire balance. Your full balance would be due on January 1st, 45 days before you plan to check in. If you were to make that same reservation on January 2nd – 44 days before the trip – the full balance would be due at the time of booking. Fail to pay the balance, and Disney will cancel the reservations. But don't panic about forgetting this task; Disney will send a notice by email or snail mail to remind you.
These policies only apply to travelers who book Disney World vacation packages. Buying individual theme park tickets requires full payment at the time of purchase

I was able to add the extra night! I had been calling the bounce back phone number but tonight tried the regular number and they were able to add my extra night with the free dining! Not sure if it just became available or calling a different number made a difference but wanted to let you all know.
