Hello, we have 5 nights at the Polynesian booked but because of flights we get in late to florida. We would like to stay at a value hotel the first night with no park ticket,( because of cost) we will go to Disney Springs and the Boardwalk. What hotel would you suggest and is it easy to switch hotels in the morning? Are our bags sent over or do we have to bring them?
Thank you

I have done this several times, and use Pop for arrival night. Yes, Disney will move your luggage for you, but I prefer to get up early and take a cab with my luggage ( you can request a taxi van no extra cost) to new resort and do early check in. I’ve had some luck with getting my room early but if room isn’t ready I leave luggage with Bell Service and head to the parks. Maybe grabbing a quick breakfast first at the resort quick service.

Jus an FYI, have you looked at the cost of one day added to a 5 day ticket? It shouldn't bee too much extra. About $10 per person without park hoppers.

If they move our bags, what time would they arrive?
I think they start delivery around 3:00 on. This is why I prefer to take bags myself so they are there for when I want them. It’s worth the taxi fare to me. If you are relying on Disney to transfer luggage people advise to pack a day bag with what ever you may need, including bathing suits to hold you. Until luggage arrives.

I would recommend staying at the airport Hyatt the first night, which is affordable but very nice, and then take Magical Express to Poly. Much more comfortable and convenient than staying at a value for one night.

Folks do your exact plan pretty regularly. Since its one night, I suggest booking the cheapest value room you can. Drop off your bags, see DS, get back early enough to get to bed on time so you can start early in the morning.

Some folks love luggage transfer, just be aware your bags might not be accessible at your new resort until late in the afternoon.

Some folks send one adult with all the luggage in a taxi first thing in the morning to the new resort and have them check in if room is ready or leave bags at Bell Services. The rest of the party might head to the park. I do this because sometimes I might decide to come back to the resort midday and I want to be sure to be able to access my stuff, not have it still in limbo in the luggage transfer process.
