Adding a new MDE to already linked person?

I’m an app user novice. My husband, a “never going to disney in my whole life” person just said to me the other day, “What day are you going over to Epcot to activate your annual pass?” very casually.

I said “oh, made reservation for January 11, and will stay overnight. Why?” He said, “Well, I’ll go with you.”

I almost fell over. For more than 20 years, he’s told me and the kids (now the grandkids also) to go and have fun, but he’d never to go such a place.

I bought his ticket, added him to my room reservation, made his reservation, etc. Then I was think- he does have his own phone (almost never uses it though) and he could use it to open our room door since he won’t have a magicband.

So I assume he has to set up his own MDE (I’ll do that for him) but then since he’s already in my account with his name, how do I make those connect?

I know this is probably a really dumb question, so please forgive me if it’s obvious. I’ve never actually gone to WDW and not be totally in charge- even my girlfriend who went last time for a week with me has only a burner flip phone and didn’t use it!

To link to the MDE account that you've setup for him, select update on his profile on the Family & Friends list in YOUR MDE account. There should be an option that says "Share Planning with {his name}". If you click that, you can then enter the email address used to create HIS MDE account. You would need to then log on to his new MDE account and accept the friend request. Beware that once the friend request is accepted, any MagicBand, tickets, etc, will transfer to his newly created account and will need to be managed from there. You will still be able to make/manage plans for him from his account.
