Hello,
We are booked for the April 7-10 cruise on the WISH! It will be beyond special for us. Our DD has been on a wellness journey and if all goes as planned she will celebrate her BiG 30 on the cruise! Long story short she is disabled and almost lost her life in 2019 and has been battling ever since. We are now at the point she should be able to travel, if she continues on the same path! Insert ... prayers...
My DS is away at university and not sure if he can go, he really wants to! I had to remove him from my reservation today as its final payment. I spoke with a DCL cast member and she explained I can add him if the ship is not at capacity. Has anyone had a bad experience where it was not possible to add someone? I am biting my nails worrying....

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

When adding a new guest, DCL asks 3 questions:
1) Is there another bed in the room? (Can't put 4 people in a 3 person room).
2) Is there space in the lifeboat assigned to that room? (Since there are more beds than lifeboat seats onboard, it's possible that a room can have another - unfilled - bed, but the lifeboat is full)
3) Is there space in the appropriate kid's club? (if applicable)

If the answer is "no" to ANY of these questions, you cannot add another person to a reservation.

Here’s hoping for the best for your family, in matters health, travel, and overall life.

Congrats to your DD and best wishes for her continued good health!
That is Easter weekend, right? Those cruises typically sail full. It's risky to wait and try to add someone. Assuming you have insurance, I'd add him back to the reservation now. Then if you do have to drop him submit to insurance for reimbursement of the penalty. Unless you'd be ok leaving him behind.

And, of course, adding him back will cost what the cost is now, not what it cost on the original reservation.

Thanks for the replies! My DS should know by the end of the month .. so hopefully it will work out! Our room sleeps 5 and we will be a family of 4. His older sister has a room as well that sleeps 4 and they are 2. It scares me as its a gamble...

Update … my DH has a vacation approval! I called last night and fortunately added him to the cruise ❤️ It was a higher price point but that’s ok.. happy to add him. I kept checking the availability and the rooms were getting scarce! Now if only my DS would get an approval to miss his exam that is scheduled on Easter Monday 😬 We are beyond excited to cruise again.. this cruise means so much!

I’ve had kids in 6 different universities, getting a make up exam due to a vacation is very rare.
