Adding a guest to a room only ticketless dining plan reservation for the last night only

My husband, son and I have a room only reservation booked for 4 nights and want to add the dining plan to our stay. There is a possibility that our adult son might be able to join us for the final night of our stay, but he won‘t know for sure until the last minute. Would I be able to add him to the reservation so he could use the Magical Express even though he isn’t on our dining plan. I KNOW that all guests in the room are supposed to be included in the dining plan for the length is the stay, but just wondering if anyone had any experience adding a guest like this.

You can add AFTER you have checked in. That's the only exception I've seen to the requirement that everyone in the room must be on the package. Check with the front desk cast member.

This. Then once he's added, he can make a Magical Express reservation. We do it often.
