Is it possible to add a person to a room reservation for only part of the reservation. For example...three adults in the room for three nights and then adjust down to only two adults for an additional three night.

Yes. I would put all three adults on the reservation now. When you check-in, let them know the third adult is leaving after three nights so they can adjust the extra adult fee for the last three nights.

But if you have the dining plan and it isn't free dining, you'll have to pay for dining for all three of you for the entire trip.

Yes this will work just fine as long as you have not purchased a package. Packages require that all guests on a reservation have the exact same selections. For example: the same tickets, same Dining plan if chosen and the same length of stay.

For a room only reservation, you can add the 3rd adult now or at check-in. If you want customized MagicBands, add them now. If you don't want or need a MagicBand, just add this additional adult at check in and you will receive a standard MB. On the morning when the 3rd guest checks out, just swing by the Front Desk and have them removed from the reservation for the next 3 nights. Yes you can tell them earlier but don't waste your time, just do it the morning your 3rd adult leaves.

Yes - If you have booked room only, with your tickets booked separately you are fine. If you have booked a package then I would wait and add the 3rd adult after you check in.

So if you have room only I would add all three adults now and then at check in let the front desk know when the 3rd adult will be checking out - and the double check by visiting the front desk that day.

We do this often as my adult "kids" and or my sister join us at different points during our vacation.

Also - keep in mind that there is a charge for each adult over 2 in a room-
Value $15
Moderate $25
Deluxe $35

I am hopping on this thread as well, my DD21 and I have a package booked, and we have a friend and her DD20 who may join us. She gets discounted tickets through her work, and cannot be there the whole time we are there either. DD21 and I were debating on adding the DDP since all the price increases, but weren't sure how to handle, if our friends do decide to join us on the trip. We want to be above board and do everything the right way. So I am asking, is there no way for us to add them if they do decide to go with us without them having to purchase the whole package? Thanks, sorry to hijack:wave2:

You can add them after you check in. This way they do not need all package components. However they will not be able to get FP+ with you in advance. They will have to buy their tickets separately. They will not be able to get customized Magic Bands. They will have to pay for all their meals. There is an extra adult fee for each adult over 18 in a room b

Thank you.:thanks: We will have to discuss with them. The bummer part of this is if they do decide to go for sure, and want the MB and FP window without the package, I figured they should get their own room, but there is no availability at Pop for the time we are there.

This ^^ Just add them separately when they arrive.

Also slight correction as they will be able to get FP+ along with the original party if they have tickets and the OP books for them. As long as at least one person in the original party has the same FP+ as the folks with separate tickets you can book them with yours. My sil and niece & nephew live in FL and don't always stay on site with us but I can still make their FP+ with mine for the days they join us in the parks.

DME can be tricky with a package, my sister takes a ride share from the airport and then I add her to DME for the departure.

They will get a MB when they check in but it may be grey - or they can purchase one and use that :)

Thank you for the additional information! :flower3: You can make the FP+ at 60 days out, as long as they have tx and are in MDE, and I am making the FP for all?

Yup as long as everyone is in your friends and family and at least one person in your original onsite reservation is in the group selected for FP+ you can make them for additional guests.

For us its myself and my 2 dd's in the original party, sil niece & nephew not onsite. I can make a FP+ choosing all six of us or I can even split up the party if the "kids" want to ride say RnRc and my sil and I do not. As long as one of my dd's is in the party selected I can book RnRc for the 4 of them and then something else for my sil and I. Hope that didn't complicate things :)
