im buying point for a stay at the WL villas.
Right now it's just my 3 kids and the 2 of us.
My mom hinted at wanting to come but she not know for sure till the summer.
Fine we were just going to get her an offsite room.
Or room only at csr.
How hard is it to add her on to our villa reservation?
They've asked the names and ages of our reservation party.
We are looking at the studio if it makes a difference.
My kids are 14/5/1

You cannot put 6 in a studio so you will have to get something else for her. If you had a 2 bedroom adding her at the last minute would be easy just a call to MS.

I thought the baby doesn't count towards room capacity?
Did that change recently?

I think technically you would be able to book the studios that sleep 5 plus the infant. However, the sleeping arrangements with a queen, pull out full and small murphy bed will not be very reasonable. IMO you're over reasonable without Mom. I'd make other arrangements for Mom or go back to the person you're renting from and see if you can get a larger villa.

you can do 4+1 in a studio or 5 but i'm fairly sure you cannot do 5+1.
The studios with the small murphy bed are listed as 5 and the website will allow you to list 5 plus an infant and complete the reservation.

Ok that confuses me because you can't do 5+1 in a VWL 1 bedroom but you can in a studio?

You can do 5 plus 1 in all one BR's currently even when the official occupancy is 4. You've got to stop thinking DVC is going to make sense, it'll drive you nuts otherwise.

True!

They wouldn't let us do 5+1 in a 1 bedroom at VWL in 2013. Or maybe just the CM I spoke to...

The computer will allow 5+1 in all 1BR villas. My impression is it was lazy programming not a purposeful act but the end result is the same. Personally I'd prefer they were hard line on the occupancy but it isn't the Disney way. Previous to that it was hit or miss depending on who you talked to.

Back to your original question, we recently added someone to our reservation 5 days prior to our arrival. While that of the change was easy, adjusting or dining ADRs and FPs were a little more effort.

Since you are renting points, how easy or hard it is would depend on how willing the owner of the points is to modify the rental to include another adult. I would send an e-mail to that person and find out.

It's been my understanding that the one bedroom villas that officially sleep four, only allow four plus one. Whether that one is aged three or older or under the age of three, but not five plus one under the age of three. The one bedroom villas that officially sleep five, allow five plus one under the age of three.

But I agree with Dean that six people in the VWL studio is too many. It would not be comfortable at all.

Deb, that's the way it's supposed to be but since a computer upgrade maybe 2 yrs ago, the online will allow the 5+1. I think MS has been hit or miss in this area. Personally I'd prefer they were hard line on the occupancy but I also think the members should know what the options are even if I feel they should be done differently.

Thanks for all the input.
I just wanted to know if the possibility was there to add her on last minute.
Chances are she won't want to stay with us since the boys can get ...rowdy. Lol
