Adding a DDP for a 2 yr old vs OOP?

Has anyone done this? I'm weighing the options. I'm wondering how the $12/day on the DDP compares to $12/day a la cart. Seems like it would be worth it have the freedom of ordering whatever I wanted to without having to factor in what DS can/can't share. (Only planning for one TS buffet out of 7.) Anyone have any thoughts?

If you put him on DDP you have to buy him a park ticket as well if you are on a package reservation.

It could change everything...remember you'd have to register your child as 3 years old to get the DDP. At WDW, 3 year olds need park tickets, so you can't register him as 3 on a package reservation without also buying a park ticket.

If you're on free dining, all you have to pay for is the park ticket...some guests think that is worth it. If you're on a DVC reservation you still have to register him as 3 but you don't have to buy park tickets as part of your room reservation.

I have a 2 yo also. I chose places like Boma that I can get plenty of choices for 2 yo to eat and not have to order a kids meal. Tusker house breakfast, Ohana all are all you care to eat so sharing is easy. I fond most counter services are plenty big enough for me to share with him.

I wasn't concerned about the quantities, but rather that I want spicy & full of flavor when traveling! LOL!

That is why i chose Boma and Ohana and Tusker House, lots of choices so I am not limited to ordering less spicey items (And that way ds isnt living on kids meals)

You are not going to find a whole lot of that at Walt Disney World. However, there are some places where you can find that.

Just buy the kid a children's meal at TS. If you buy him one a day it would still cost less than buying the DDP for him.
