Adding a day ?

We booked our Free Dining package at POR in March when the promotion was running, but we didn't book our airfare, because prices seemd a bit high to me and I was waiting for a better deal, which we were able to get a little over a week ago with Airtran.

The problem however was that the reservations we made were for Sat. Sept 22 - Sat. Sept 29th at POR. The airfare was so much cheaper flying home on Sun. Sept 30th than the 29th, we booked that airfare and tried adding a day to our package. The problem is that the free dining booking period past already and in order to keep our free dining package and ticket prices the same, we had to book another night as a separate reservation.

Now to save even more money, we booked 1 room at POR for myself, DH, DD8, and my parents. The 1st 7 nights of our trip we have 2 rooms booked. But for the last night and the 2nd reservation we just booked 1 room for the 5 of us. Has anyone ever had to do this before? Can we keep one of our rooms the same and just move the majority of our stuff into the one room Friday night? We will probably still have to check out of the other room, and will we have to check in for the final night for the one room? We won't have to move all our stuff out, carry it to the front desk, get a new room assignment etc., will we? The other part of this is when we booked our package we got garden view rooms (one step up from standard), however the only room reservation they had available for the Sat additional night stay was a water view room which is more expensive. Does this mean we will for sure have to vacate both rooms, carry all our stuff down to the front desk, and then check into a new room? Not only am I worried about having to move a bunch of stuff for 1 night, but I am also concerned about losing much of our morning that we could be using at the park just to make this change.

I would call again and ask to speak to Guest Services. They should be able to add the night to your original reservation using the code (even though it expired). The regular call center can't do that, but Guest Services can (I just did the same thing.) So many times, they don't even tell you that. Then you can stay in the same room and still get the extra day of free dining. They should be able to do that plus cancel your second reservation with no problem.

You have a total of 5 in your party, with the youngest over the age of 3. If you have to spend the last night in a single room, you can only be accommodated in an Alligator Bayou room. None of the Mansion rooms can sleep 5. So if your first set of rooms are in the Mansions, yes, you will have to physically check out of your old rooms and move to a new one.

Even if you originally have rooms in Alligator bayou, you won't know whether or not you will keep one of those rooms on your final day until someone goes to the front desk to check out of the old rooms and check in to the new rooms. So you'd be wise to have one room packed irregardless.

This is correct that it is still possible to add that night under free dining even though the promo is no longer offered. As mentioned, guest services would be the only ones able to make the change; however, there has to be availability under free dining for the resort/room type you want in order to add that extra night. If there is no availability for that one night, you won't be able to add it and would have to have a separate reservation for that portion of your trip.

It could be that there were no more available rooms under the free dining promo for that night, because I did have my dad call disney 1st and ask, and then I called a second time that night and spoke to someone who checked on it and said their was no availability, I thought it was because the free dining promo had ended. There was availability for room only though, and that we booked.

I am going to request that we stay in an alligator bayou room a few days before we leave, because my daughter wants to sleep on one of those pull down beds anyways. I guess it's just a matter of waiting to see what happens. I just wondered if anyone has been through this same situation before. I plan on letting the front desk know as soon as possible, first by faxing them a request a few days before check in and then again at checkin on our first day. So I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

You have to tell the cm that guest services will have to help you. If that cm don't do it call back gain. Sometimes you have to be nice but firm. It could be possible that the room category you booked is SO but you can Ask Guest service exactly what is available.

Faxing will no longer work. You will have to phone to have your room request added to your reservation. And note that this is ONLY a request, although they will do what they can to grant it. It all depends on room availability on the day of check in. I believe that families of 5 have first priority for AB rooms.

when you want to ask customer service something do you usually e-mail them or call them and if you call what number do you use for customer service related to reservations and resort stays?
