Adding a day?

Ok, so we booked everything through Disney.com Now we want to add an extra day. Any advise as to best way to do this with out robbing the bank? Our air tickets say non refundable and non tranferable. Ok. So we can still use the original departure tickets right? We'll just loose out on the arriving fare, right?

We want to add a day to the beginning of our original reservations.

Ugh...so many questions... Anyone ever do this and how did you do it?

I just added a day this morning. Just called Disney and they changed everything for me. We added a day at the beginning of the vacation and the airfare actually dropped by $11 a person. Since we are on free dining, and the cost of a 9 day hopper pass versus 8 day is basically nothing, all it cost us was the additional hotel night - about $400 for 5 people - not bad!

I would just call Disney and have the quote you the difference. Worked out great for us.

YOu SHOULD be able to just call your airline and have your flights changed. True, tehy are non retundable (Can't get your money back if you cancel the trip) and non transferrable (Can't give them to somemone else) BUT they should be changeable. There may or may not be a fee to do this, and as a PP said, you may end up ahead of the game!!

By switched our trip to Wed - Tues instead of Fri - Thur, we saved about $140 PP!! You may not get any actual $$ back, but you should be a travel voucher in teh amount you "save" if the fare does go down by switching the flight.

We just added a day to the start of our trip, too without difficulty and actually saved money when we did this. So, definitely look into it. We haven't gotten our airline tickets yet, but I believe clownchk is right that you should be able to change the ticket date. Can't hurt to call and find out.
