Adding a Day - When Can You Reserve Your FastPasses?

Posted this on Mesaboy's FastPass thread, but thought maybe I should post a stand-alone question here as well.

As I said in the other post, you figure you know the system reasonably well, but then something comes up that you never had to address before, so here I am with my question!

Bought a 6-day ticket. Linked my fastpasses. Now an opportunity has come up for me to add another day. In another world, I would have just added a day once I arrived and started to use my tickets.

But now I want to book my fastpasses for this extra day but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to add the extra day now to my package so I can take advantage of the 60-day fastpass booking window.

Can I add now, or am I stuck?

Thanks in advance!:thanks:

I am in same situation. If you bought your package from disney you can add the day now and take advantage of the60 day window.
I bought my tickets from UT so I am stuck with my 5 day ticket until I upgrade at the park...so I can't take advantage of 60 day window on my added day.

Because you bought a package, you'll have to wait until you arrive and activate your ticket early and then add the day.

Or, you can buy four single day tickets and link them to MDE and book the FPs that you need. You'll only use the tickets to book FPs. Activate your package tickets when you arrive and add the day; leave the single day tickets in your account to use or to upgrade for a trip in the future.

The last option is to cancel your package and immediately rebook with the longer tickets. FPs remain in your MDE for approximately 1.5 days without a linked ticket so as soon as your new package is linked, your FPs will be retained.

If you know you will return to WDW in the future, I'd choose the single day ticket to use as a FP generator.

UPDATE!
I posted my question last night after the Disney phone lines were closed, and was curious enough that I didn't want to wait until the morning to seek an answer to my question.

So this morning I phoned Disney directly since I had booked my tickets directly through them, and much to my surprise, they added another day's worth of tickets to my package (went from 6 to 7 day tickets), and I made my fastpasses for that extra day this morning, too! A nice little bonus I wasn't counting on....just thought I would share for anyone else facing the same challenge.
