Adding a day to my trip

I’m trying to add a date to the start of our vacation which starts next week. Our room is available but not at the pass holder discount. I’ve had luck adding to the end of my vacation by talking to the hotel manager while I’ve been there but does anyone have tips for talking to someone over the phone? I keep calling reservations but I wonder if I can reach the hotel directly. Thanks!!
