Adding a day to Costco ticket

We have the 3 day Costco tickets that expire at the end of this year. We used two days last week. We are going back this summer and plan to use the remaining day. I am not sure if we will want to go another day. Can I add a day to these Costco tickets? What would the cost be? If I can add a day, would I have to add it before I use the 3rd day or can I add it after the 3rd day is used if we decide to return later in the week?

Thanks!!

I'm interested to see what people say about your question. Our family of 5 had 4 of the Costco tickets that we used for our trip in June 2012. I bought an annual pass that had parking, discounts on food/merchandise and hotel discounts. My younger son, daughter and husband used 2 days of their 3 day ticket. My annual pass expires the first week of June this year. My son was using the 3rd day of his ticket and I inquired about upgrading and his ticket was upgraded to the lowest level of annual pass for no additional charge. We did this at the park last June. Not sure how that worked out but I was told that the Costco ticket cost more than that annual pass so they were not going to give us a refund in the price difference but they would upgrade it. His pass expires a year from the first day of use. I am considering a visit to the parks the first week of June before our annual passes expire and I know for sure my other two kids can get 1 more day out of their Costco tickets, but if I am able to upgrade their tickets to annual passes (that expire 1 year from first use) I may be able to get more than one day out of their tickets. I am not sure if these tickets had to be upgraded so many days after first use. But I would think you would have to upgrade the ticket while you are in the park that last day you use it.

As long as you have a day left, you should be able to add another day onto the ticket and pay the difference which shouldn't be too much. You would have to upgrade before you leave the park on your last day or the ticket is considered used.

Interesting. I received the below response on another Costco thread that suggests that I cannot add another day but this thread suggests I might even be able to convert to an annual pass? I guess when we get there this summer I will ask about options available.

Thanks!

It is a tricky situation because if you upgrade, you turn your ticket into an expiring ticket. In your case, if you upgraded, your ticket would expire 14 days after you activated it, which would make it expired because you already used a day a while ago.

The only way to upgrade would be to do it when you first use your ticket and then it just turns into a normal 4 day ticket that would expire in 14 days.

I still stand by my answer, lol. There is no such thing as a 4 day non expiring Costco ticket or any other non expiring ticket. When you upgrade, you have to upgrade to an existing ticket. That would make it a 4 day park to park with a 14 day expiry that would have been activated upon first use.

You could upgrade to an annual pass. That wouldn't expire until a year after initial activation.

I will stand by your answer too - lol - as I think you are correct. But, now I am very curious so I plan to find out when there in July!

It is always, always worth it to ask. Guest Services has done some amazing things for us in the past and I would never doubt that they have some great tricks up their sleeves!
