Hello all !
We've got ADRs for all of our dinners in August. Relatives in Florida will be stopping in for 2 nights (still undetermined which nights), and would like to eat with us. Is it risky to show up for our ADRs with them, hoping to get them in ? I can't put them on the existing ressies because I don't know which nights they'll be there ! Help !!:confused3

The best answer is that maybe they will be seated with you, and maybe they won't be. If the restaurant is full, they won't be. You should try to find out when they will be coming, and change the reservations if possible. Or try and make an extra reservation for 3 about the same time, and when you show up ask to be seated together or near each other.

The extra people will most likely be turned away if you show up with extra for your adr.

IF by chance the restaurant has no shows, or an unexpected opening in the night they may say you can wait around. But I will be honest, it will be a LONG wait...over 2+ hours. I have never seen anyone get in less and I see more people turned away than anything.

Your best bet is to explain your situation with the people and just let them know, you have had these plans for months and you need to know when they are coming and maybe try and get new adrs.
Or just tell them sorry.....

I have a friend that meets us in WDW for dinner every trip and I explain to her (she lives in Orlando) that I must know which night she wants to come. Plain and simple.

I have had very good results in the past calling and asking to expand the number in the party, even on the day of the ressie. However, earlier is always better in these cases. Try to get a date pinned down and then make the call. Showing up at the restaurant with extra people in tow can work, but rarely works well and can result in an awkward choice of leaving your guests outside while you go eat or skipping a planned meal and everyone going somewhere else.

If your trip falls during Free Dining, then you will most likely be out of luck trying to get seated with extra people.

However, you could to rebook most of your ADR's for three extra people because you can always get seated if you show up with FEWER guests than your reservation calls for. That way you'll be covered for whichever nights they end up coming.

I just called Disney Dining and added my 3 guests for dinner each night. Great advice as usual . Thanks again !!!:worship:
