We are going to 11 days but I can only purchase 10 day tickets through Disney travel. They say it's easy to add another day when we get there....how easy is it? Can I add at our hotel or does it have to be done at the park? Is it more expensive than adding the 10th day? We have been to WDW several times but never for 11 days!!

Thanks for helping!

Are you in the US? Tickets don't come higher than that if you are. You'd have to buy another 1 day ticket or look into getting an AP.

Yes we are in the US. We have park hoppers with water parks and more. If we spent one day at the water parks and downtown Disney does that count as one of our 10 days, or as long as its within the 14 day window would it just use one of our water park entitlements? I know that used to be the case but not sure how it works now. It's been a while since we did a water park/DTD only day.

No, it does not count as one of your days.

You absolutely cannot add another day to your tickets.

Thanks so much! That solves the issue, we are planning a day at a water park & DTD only. Whew. When I called Disney travel they seemed rather confused by my question.

It is my understanding that if you have 10 day park tickets with water parks and more you get 10 days of visits to the major parks PLUS 10 VISITS (not days) to the minor parks (water parks, mini golf, disneyquest, etc.) All of those expire within 14 days of the first use of your ticket.

You might want to consider getting less than 10 park tickets. after 5 days, it's $10 per person per day and it's exactly the same price to add it on from the hotel or guest services at the park. Park hopper is good for the 14 days and a 1 time fee if you have that, no extra cost if you add on.

We started doing this last year when we noticed that on longer trips, a lot of time we split up on a rest day and not everyone went into a park. Also we had a situation where someone twisted an ankle and this absolutely worked out for us because we ended up having several days only 1 person went to a park. $10 more while there but we saved almost $200 in total from those that didn't use it.

Tickets may be upgraded more than once.

So you could start with say an 8 day ticket (if you are sure you will use all 8 days in the theme parks).

You will have to be vigilant so that, (in this example) during the 8'th theme park day, if you don't have left over water park fun (or any water park fun) you add more days if needed since on the next day, the ticket with absolutely nothing left on it cannot be upgraded.

Blizzard Beach during the day, Disney Quest in the evening, that's all -- Consumes zero days and two fun visits with or without hopping.
