Ok it is 735am and I am on this board. I do this every single opportunity I get. I jump on this board in the morning when I havent even washed the crust out of my eyes yet. I come home from work for lunch (or thats what i tell them) so I could see if there are new threads and I waste 98% of my evening/night checking and rechecking these threads.

Everytime my son comes in the room (he is 17), he says OMG mom grow up,...get a life.....

Wow, if he isnt right....I am here so often, there are very few "new" threads.....lol.

Please Please Please tell me that there is someone or a couple of someones lol out there that are the same as me!!!!!!!! If not, than I guess I do need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"waste" - what do you mean "waste"?????:teeth: Is there anything more important than checking in with these boards? The DIS takes priority & everything else can be done in spare time I say!

Last night I got off the DIS & broke out the DCL Vacation Booklet. My DS said, "OMG, Mom, enough already!" :hyper:

I'm another one, but I was up at 6:30. :o

Me too! Is it really a bad thing? There's so many worse things we could be doing...like cleaning, laundry, yard work....

how about obsessed?

6:30am on a Saturday
Dog's sleeping
DH's sleeping

I'm on my second cup of java and updating myself on DIS.
:wave2:

I'm here too and just got off the ship a week ago. Neeed more Disney Magic. Must have more Disney Magic. (Sir back away from the computer!!!)

 Count me in as a crazy. I have my 3 ring binder all decorated with Disney stickers on the outside and in big sparkly stick on letters it says DISNEY CRUISE INFORMATION. Then I have my itin. printed out, the spa sheet, all the menus, and all the navigators from a Western Cruise. I am constantly updating my itin. and if it wasn't for these boards I would go on the ship and feel like I had no clue what was going on. When my docs first arrived I practically knocked my DH over to get to the computer to let everyone here know. YES I AM ADDICTED, OBSESSED,WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT! :chat:

First thing when I wake up I have my coffee. Go out on the porch and relax for a few minutes just trying to wake up. Then I sit in front of the computer and check my mail. Next thing I know I am here. Every morning like clock work. Depending on how tired I am determins if I am going to post or not. But I feel this is a great place to start my day! Disney dreams while sleeping and disney dreams when i'm awake!!

I'm with you!!! I didn't post earlier because I was reading some old threads. I know, this is really sad.

My ds and dh always tell me to speak English. What so they mean? Isn't everyone a dw, dh etc? And I do believe you all know what I mean by APL rotation!!!! The nerve!!!

so glad I am not alone
I was in the library yesterday and saw a book which described "soft-addictions" which, as I read, was this...but this is my relaxation, I can dream of my way-too-far-off cruise and have hope
Plus, I remind my family of the money I saved on the last cruise because of these boards...it was hundreds...
(just don't divide the number of hours by the hours spent online)

Thanks for the reassurance, everyone!
Barb
PS - needless to say, I put the book back on the shelf and decided the author didn't know what they were talking about!

:( Oh no, I think I am turning into one of you all, and I still have so long until my cruise. Good thing I get to go to the World soon and get a little disney magic.... :p

I also thought that after 2 Wonder cruises and 1 Magic cruise that I would have it "out of my system". Well.....we're booked for 601 days out. Do you think I should start packing?????

Confan1,
Are you my twin?

Personally, I think this board has been very educational. I've learned how to do many things like pm, how to post a countdown clock (alright, I need to review this one!), how to retrieve a post that some how gets lost and then tells you, you are not "logged in" when you are replying to a thread!!!!

Skatermom, it may be to late!!!

It's not an obsession, it is a tool to make sure you are informed and prepared. Aren't we always encouraged to research carefully before making a major decision or purchase? Without frequent checking of the boards, you may miss out on an important piece of information that could change the whole course of your DCL experience!

Without the boards, I would not have known to request Mickey Bars from room service, which I am sure will greatly increase my enjoyment of the ship.

Without the boards, I would not have found all the sites with the cool clip art and text to create door magnets.

Without the boards, I would not have know which drink specials should not be missed.

Of course, my DS 16 who decided not to go says that I just do this to annoy people and waste time.

However, he is not leaving with with us in four days. He will never be able to understand the "wonder" and excitement I feel, which is obviously shared by so many others!

Thank goodness there are others, or he would have convinced that I was nuts!

I am addicted too! I check the boards all day long for new posts. I don't know what I would do, if I didn't have a computer at work.

We haven't been on cruise #2 yet & already have #3 booked.

DH is just as addicted as I am. Being on these boards help make the time go faster until we can get back on the "Mickey Boat".

:wave2: I don't know how I survived my first cruise this past April without this board. BUT we are ready for our 2nd which is in January. DISNEY HERE WE COME................................
I read this board b4 anything else, what could be more important?

Your family may think you have gone over the edge, but just wait. There will be a moment on the cruise when everyone is having too much fun and they will thank you for your diligence.

DCL is much like WDW. You will only enjoy it to the fullest if you are educated about it. There is so much to enjoy - which means there is also so much you could miss. It is not an obsession or an addiction. It is an education!

You are an exact copy of me! I bet your house is as dirty as mine too. I keep thinking I should go clean the bathroom, but then go to the computer first just to see if there is something new and then just keep reading forever! I try to limit myself to an hour at a time now. (then go get at least one thing done, then come back for some more!)

Hello, my name is Grumpy's Mom and I am a DISaholic.

Let me tell you my sad story - the one where I almost let my home-based business go down the drain last year as I was "preparing" for our Christmas cruise!

If not for these boards, we would not have had the vacation of a lifetime. I found the boards by accident, looking at another cruise critique site where a poster mentioned this site. Although it was after we had booked (and I soon learned how much money I could have saved), the boards made our cruise something it would never have been otherwise.

I made spread sheets, searched and searched the boards (in the olden days, before the new servers...took forever) for info on everything from what to pack (thanks, Jim) to what the best excursions were. I miraculously found a thread for our cruise date (thanks, Ginny, Julie, Kim, Lynn and Jim for keeping the discussion going early on, and bumping back to page 1), "hooked up" with several families from our thread, linked dinner ressies, and prepared my family for the fact that I had met some "friends" online. Each member of our family met friends they will have for a lifetime. I cannot say enough about the good things that have come to our family as a result of these boards.

The sad thing is, here I am, 419 days away from our next cruise, and I am actually WRITING ABOUT MY ADDICTION TO THE DISBOARDS ON THE DISBOARDS....

What does that say about my mental health??!!

Thank goodness I have the Dis boards to come to daily to discuss my addiction, and thank goodness for all of you "sponsors"!

I too am addicted. We are stripping wallpaper in our house so our house looks like a warzone, yet the first thing I must do everymorning is look for new posts. I kept thinking that after we went on our cruise I would get better, but that has not happened. I have been trying to limit myself to an hour at a time too. My friends and family think that I am crazy that is why I come on board so much, I need support from my disfriends. :hyper:
