Has anyone done any of the added on area attractions? I am specifically interested in going to Hollywood and sightseeing. There is the LA/Hollywood and beach tour (10 hours) or the Madame Tussaud's Hollywood and CityWalk tour (10 hours). Thanks!

We've done the the walk of fame and all that area. Had a great time. We rented car and skipped the tour group. Worked better for us. We have also done the Page and Getty Museums, Knott's Berry Farm, Griffith Park, medieval Times dinner theatre. All were fun and worth the time we devoted to them.

Oh, and we have done universal studios. That was fun.

A friend just did the Warner bro tour (about three weeks ago) and they enjoyed it.

When you did the walk of fame area, was it doable in one day? I don't really like the thought of being on a tour where I can't venture off so if you thought it worked out good doing it on your own I could think about that option. Thank you!

The walk of fame area is a 10 block street. Shops, restaurants and tourist traps along Hollywood Blvd
and a few block of Vine St. If you walked the entire length (both sides of the street) you could easily
see each and every "star" in 90 minutes. Add another hour to look in some of the shops and eat at a
restaurant. CityWalk is an outdoor mall. The usual shops and restaurants. 10 hours seems like a long
time to spend there even adding several hours at Madame Tussaud's. I'd say you could fully explore
CityWalk in 2 hours. I'm not a fan of malls so I'm kind of over it in less than an hour. But if you really
love malls...

Since you don't really like the thought of being on a tour where you can't venture off you could easily
see the Walk of Fame and Madame Tussaud's in a couple of hours (say 3 if wax figures really interest
you) then drive up to the Griffith Observatory for a couple of hours then drive over to the Santa Monica
Pier to watch the sunset. If CityWalk is something you'd like to see you could add that to the itinerary
with no problem.

I agree with StageTek. We went to see the 'stars', watched a movie at the El Cap (Disney's theatre there), and have a look at the Chinese theater. They are all right there on the same street. One block down (don't know the street name but we just looked it up on google) is Mel's diner...where we had lunch. We got there about 9am and left just after 2. We headed over to Griffith Park and went to the marry-go-round (sadly it was closed...but I have photos of the outside) and looked at Walt's barn through the gates. Then we headed over to the studios and had a look through the gates as well. Got back to the hotel by dinner time.
