Added celebration

I just called and added a graduation celebration to my upcoming dining reservations. The CM told me I would see the added celebration when I looked online at the reservation, but I don't see anything. Am I missing something? Also, on MDE, I see my reservation and all the correct members of my party, but she was missing a name and had mine listed a few different ways.:confused3 (in fact, the name of my son who is graduating wasn't listed on her screen) Any ideas on what's up with that, and should I be worried?

I believe the CM was mistaken. I have never had a celebration that was called in show up on MDE. As long as the number of the party is correct, I wouldn't worry about names.

1) Go ahead and call and have the name corrected.
2) I do not believe you will the celebration on the MDE.
3) By the way, what do you expect when listing a celebration?
.
Note: Any mention or actions from CM's are strictly up to the CM's initiative.
. . . could be big
. . . could be nothing
. . . please do not be disappointed if the celebration is minimal

Thank you both for the clarification and suggestions. As far as what I expect from listing the celebration, I would simply like an acknowledgement to my son by our server in some way. Nothing elaborate. When we've noted a celebration in the past, we've sometimes gotten confetti on the table or a special dessert or even a simple exchange with our server about our celebration. I really just want my son to feel special since he requested Disney for his graduation trip. I also noted it on all dining reservations since we've sometimes not had things acknowledged at all. I bought him the graduation ears, so maybe that will be enough even if nothing got noted on the reservation.:earsboy:

Your DS has something to celebrate so you SHOULD note it on as many ADRs as you like and he should wear his button proudly. :). Have you considered ordering a cake or anything else to absolutely make sure of the celebration?

Same here. We are celebrating 27 years and have never seen our celebration on a ressie.

That is good to know. I didn't feel particularly confident with the CM working with me, so I'm glad to hear confirmation that it wouldn't show up on MDE! I would have added it online myself if I could have figured out how. Thanks for the help:thanks:

I should look into a cake, jenjersnap! I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!

1) For most cases, you WILL get an acknowledgement from both Podium SEATER and SERVER.
2) In some cases, the CM's will really go out of their way!
3) There are LOTS of things the SERVERS can do for a celebration.
4) I wish your son good fortune.

Thank you! :disrocks:

I go to mydisneyreservation.com and put it in myself. Works every time for me! I've got: bottles of wine, special dessert, CMs stopped to sing me happy birthday, confetti, cards, balloons, presents in my room, ice cream, special meet and greet with characters (they let me meet Anna and Elsa alone) and I've got to bypass lines for rides. Most recently it has worked in my favor as I got outside seating for Rose and Crown during Illuminations, they moved me up front for Hoop De Doo and they let us sit outside to eat on the patio at Tonys so we could watch FOF (we were the only ones out there). I never go expecting anything, however, when I do I chalk it up to magic :)

Thanks for the link and sharing your experience! I'm going to give it a try today.:thumbsup2

I know we use to be able to add celebrations when making an ADR, but i dont think you can do that anymore. Believe me i've tried for my upcoming trip but couldnt find it. They must have made some changes. The CM you spoke to on the phone should have added it right then and there instead of asking you to add it when you make an ADR.

In any case, i hope the mydisneyreservation.com link works for you. Otherwise i'd call again and hopefully the next CM you speak with will actually be helpful!

PS: At the very least you can always get a button when you arrive to your resort or the parks. Im sure concierge will be able to add the celebration to the ADR of your choice.

I thought mydisneyreservation.com was for online check in. There isn't a place online, as far as I know, to add restaurant celebrations since they removed the option of adding it in 2013.

It works! I do it for every trip!

Can you please give instructions? The site asks for a resort reservation confirmation number...do you enter the dining reservation number? As a PP said, it looks like it's for online checkin. Thanks!
