Our current points have a March use year. Is there any reason why we can't add 40 with a December use year?? Thanks for your help...getting a prompt answer from DVC's Administrative Offices evidently requires an act of God.

DVC would normally like to have all of the points in the same use year, but if that's not possible (say that month is sold out), then they will let you add points from a different month - at which time it just becomes an accounting hassle for you to keep track of the different months, banking deadlines, etc.

When purchasing through Disney, its policy, that it seldom waivers from, is that any add-on shall be in the same use year. If you buy 150 points or more, enough to qualify as if you were a new purchaser, it will sell you a different use year if you request.

A guide and a supervisor told me I couldn't purchase a different use year at VWL after ours sold out. We're on a waiting list.

If you buy resale you can get different use years, even if at the same resort. That's because a resale is a whole new contract that even gives you another member number.

It's not as bad as it sounds, just have to keep track of the points separately. We try not to combine points from each account on the same trip. It's just a case of managing things.
