Add points while on Cruise?

Anybody know what the current incentive/discount is for adding points to your DVC contract while on a Disney Cruise.

A friend of mine and a DVC member is cruising in Sept and looking to add points to her DVC contract and also book another cruise while on board.

Disney's marketing plan usually offers a better discount if points are purchased while on a cruise. I requested information from Disney management last year on why the price is different for buyers at WDW, verses other sales centers and people on DCL? They basically stated that that's the way it is.

I think there are different incentives based on what you are buying. I know we just added on at Aulani while on a recent 5 night Wonder cruise. We were quoted a $8 per point credit from our guide when we called and asked, but got a $10 per point credit on the cruise.

We brought there too! It was $10 a point and $1000 credit as well

Just for comparison, the addon discount for Aulani direct from Disney is at $10/point and has been for awhile.

That $1000 credit deal sounds like the big bonus! Wow!

I wish I could wait till we cruise next year, but we couldn't... we just bought used and added on

Just to clarify - our add on was only for 100 points. I believe the $10 discount across the board was for 160 or higher. We had been quoted $8 per point on land but got $10 per point on the cruise.

ahh... you are correct. I believe it is $6 off 50-99 points, $8 off 100-124 points, and $10 off 125-249

So you saved a couple hundred dollars getting points on the cruise... sweet!

The base price is $114 point at Aulani. Then for 160 pts you get $10 off, so now only $104 point. As far as the $1000 credit, that may have just been a credit for buying things on the cruise or at WDW.... hopefully the PP will chime in and let us know what that credit was for

I have always found that the incentives on the cruise are the best offered anyplace

On a cruise, DVC can chase you down and there is nowhere for you to go!! You can either jump ship or take refuge on a Carribean Island. For that reason, they have to make it a good deal!
