add points keep same UY?

We own at BLT and we are thinking of doing an add on at AKV. I like the price offered on some of the resales but I am still weighing my options.

Does buying direct get me the same UY as my existing points?

Yes, you will automatically be given the same UY. This keeps the points, provided the contract is titled the same way as well, in the same membership.

At the 7 month mark, you will be able to combine points from BLT and AKV to book your reservations, including single nights.

assuming that DVC has AKV pts available in your UY, you can get them very quickly by buying direct.

buying a resale with the same UY month takes longer to find and to close but might be a little cheaper obviously. but if the resale is titled the same and the same UY as your current contract, it should still be added in under the same membership number.

as is implied by the poster above, your BLT pts will continue to only be good for booking BLT at 11 months (and not AKV) while your AKV contract will only be good for booking AKV at 11 months (and not BLT). some people do get confused since they are both considered your "home resorts" (but you only get the 11 month window for the number of pts you own at each resort.)

We bought AKV direct in Dec 09... just did an AKV add-on via resale. Waited about 1 month to find the "right" contract for us (we were looking for 100 points with a Feb UY). I would highly recommend going resale if you have the patience. We paid $75/per point. A substantial savings in my book!

Yeah, I think it makes sense for us to take some time to look at the resales. Hopefully we'll find what we are looking for.

On a separate note, I'm so happy that I found this place. I've already picked up so much information just browsing.
