Add Person to ADR

My sister has decided to join us at Disney (couldn't she have decided this when I had made all our reservations?!). Right now we have a few ADRs for 5 people. Of course these places have no more ADRs. Do you think if we just show up as a party of 6 they will be able to seat our extra person? Or do we have no chance?

I was thinking any table that seats 5 can probably seat 6?

Sigh.....

I am going to keep checking to see if new times open up so I can just snag a new ADR for 6 & cancel my other one......is there a best time of day to check each day?

I would call and see if you can add her. I read an post a week or so ago about the same thing. Another poster had a good point: There are usually a maximum amount of people that they can allow in the restaurant at a time because of fire codes and rules. They may not be able to accomodate an extra person if you just showed up. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Since you didn't say how soon or far away your trip is I would call and see if the reservations can be modified.

Then for the ones that can't be modified, I would check online as often as possible to see if any thing opens up. Also, once you're at WDW you can check with the concierge at your resort.

You may or may not be able to just show up with the extra person and be seated. Sometimes it's not a problem, other times the extra person will be turned away, so just in case, have a back up plan.

Here is the thing, you can try to add her upon arrival but be prepared for her to be turned away.

You are right most 5 people adrs are sat at a table for 6, problem is if the restaurant is booked they have to turn them away due to capacity fire codes.
THIS is a major problem, as there is no wiggle room. If the fire code isn't followed there are big penelties and possible shut down for the restaurant, so they won't risk it.

Try, but make sure she is aware she may have to be on her own while your party eats.

If the restaurant is filled to capacity at the time you arrive, the extra person will not be admitted.

If it isn't, they'll try to accommodate her. You may have to wait longer, as your party size has changed.

If you want to make absolutely certain your sister is able to join you at every meal, you may have to continue trying to change your reservations to the new party size.
