I am going to buy 3 day tickets, on the DL website, with a corporate discount (through my employer). If I decide to add park hopping once we are there, will I have to pay the $40 to park hop plus the difference between the discounted price I paid for the base ticket at the regular gate price?

I am going to call guest relations tomorrow but figured one of the experts here would know.

Thanx

You will get different answers about this. Some have been able to upgrade and only pay the difference between the gate price of the ticket and the gate price of the upgrade and others have had to pay the difference between the discounted amount paid and the gate price of the upgraded ticket.

My experience is this: We were able to upgrade a discounted ticket and only paid the difference in gate prices on at least 2 or 3 occasions but YMMV.

Thanx.....I am just over planning. We are going to be there mid-week in September when there are shorter hours; so plan to do DCA on Tuesday (rope drop), then DL on Wed (rope drop) and Thursday (MM). I will make a decision at some point.........lol

Best case - you pay the $40 to add park hopping, even if you add on the last day of the ticket.

Worst case - you pay the difference between what you paid and the current gate price for the ticket you are upgrading.

Once you have your ticket, they can't tell where you got it or what kind of discount you got it for. You'll just pay the $40 difference. I've done this before.

Actually, they can. It is in the bar code. It depends on where you buy from if they allow the difference. For instance, when I buy the tickets from my credit union, I only pay the difference of the price and get to keep the discount. But when I bought the ticket thru Get Away Today as part of a package, I had to bridge the difference in price and didn't get to keep the discount.

And you still may not know for sure until you're at the booth. On the phone you can get different answers.

Wow, did not know that. I did it with my WAY.com ticket and got to keep the discount. I guess you just never know!
