Add-onitis!!

I am sooooo ready to be back at WDW !! (I know along with everyone else on this site...LOL). I am already thinking about adding on some points. We currently have 285 pts at SSR. I don't know if I should keep waiting to see if the new construction at CR is going to be DVC or just buy now at AK or SSR ??

of the two AKV or SSR - would buy at AKV just because of the lower point costs for some villas.

hoping and wishing that it is CRV - but with disney who knows.

Buy when you are able to afford the points, do not finance. Buy SSR if you need or want larger accomadations when you go to SSR. Buy AKV if you want a second home resort and a chance to stay club level.

Waiting for CRV could end being a fools game. It may not be DVC, no one knows for sure and the people who do know are not saying a word!

Only add on if you know that your vacation needs will require more points. I have done a small 26 point add on to my AKV points. I know that looking down the line, I will need some more as well. Right now, I am planning for them all to be at AKV, but who knows for sure?

I would say. if you are convinced that you want to add on, adding on at SSR will help you to book larger accommodations at the 11 month window at SSR. If you don't think you will need larger villas at SSR then AKV is a great resort with some great point categories.

I would also say that waiting for CRV might end up a fruitless wait. I do think that it will be DVC, but it could turn out to be suites at the Contemporary.

DH and I are beginning to have addonitis. We are HUGE Contemporary fans. For now, we want to take a few more trips to get a handle on what our DVC style will be, and how many points we will need. Its not a good time for us money wise so we are totally fine waiting on the Contemporary. It keeps us from ourselves.

If CRV doesn't materialize we will probably eventually add on somewhere else through resale. CRV is probably the only resort that we would purchase straight from Disney.

As for our DVC style - I can see DH wanting to go to WDW once a year and stay in a 1 bdrm with a boardwalk view and include at least 1 wknd night. I am totally ok with staying in a standard studio, weeknights, with annual passes a few times a year. Unfortunately, I know the way we compromise. Yep, 1bdrm, bw view, 1 weekend night, a couple of times a year. With only 100 points, addonitis is getting pretty bad at our house. At least we agree on January.

I know we really don't NEED to add on any points right now... I was trying to plan a trip this summer, again. I have a trip booked for Nov. 22nd-29th, 2008 right now. It is just amazing - that we just returned home and I could turn around and go right back...
