Add one seat at Hollywood Brown Derby/Fantasmic

When we booked our Hollywood Brown Derby/Fantasmic reservations we included all three members of the our party. Now a friend from town wants to join us for the day. WDW Dining says the reservation can not be increased by one and there are no open seats for the day. It is the first or second day that Fantasmic reopens.

My question is: What are the odds that the hotel concierge or the Brown Derby on the 'day of' will make an exception and allow our visitor to join us for the meal and Fantasmic?

Any personal experiences with this type of request are especially appreciated.

yesterday we tried to add one more person to Chef Mickeys and one more to Hollywood and Vine.......we couldnt add one to C M's but had no trouble with H & V....I would call to make sure.....you never know what will happen.

with a little luck, they had you at a 4 person table anyway & just need to add a chair
(in the few times we were 1 more or 1 less, concierge was very helpful)

I would also try when I checked in at the hotel. The worst that they can say is no.

Be aware that the last time we at at HBD, we were seated at a what I call at 3/4 booth that had a max. capacity of 3. The booth was best described as a clipped off semi-circle arrangement. You could not add another chair because it would block the aisle. That may be part of the problem - you are slotted for a table with a max of 3 currently - If you were planned for a 4 top I don't see what the problem would be.
