Add on timing and MF

Question about MF when you buy direct...

I'm trying to get 25 add-on BLT points (Feb UY). I've been waitlisted for a month. When you direct buy add-on points, do you have to pay MF for the current year? In other words, if my BLT points come through this month or next, do I have to pay MF for 2017? If they don't come through until Feb, will I have to pay MF for 2018

Some predict that My points won't come through until Feb because DVC must include points for the current UY. i.e. If they sell to me in Dec or Jan, they must include 2017 points. If the contracts they ROFLed don't have 2017 points, they must wait until the 2018 UY to sell. Given the price increase, DVC had an even bigger incentive to resort until Feb.

I'm worried that I'll end up paying the increased price and MF for 2018! if that's not bad enough, I'll also be too late to buy discount Platinum APs.

MF's are prorated for the calendar year when buying direct, so if you don't get points till after February 1st you will have to pay 2018 MF's minus January.

So hopefully they come up with the points before February so you get 2017 points (for free) but I wouldn't count on it.
