Add-on sold out?

I've read the posting below...do I understand that OKW or BWV have no add'ons available for current members no matter WHAT the use month is?

Unless you can find a resale at OKW or BWV, there are no points available thru DVC for an add-on. YOu can still add-on at VWL, VB and HH if you own at OKW or BWV. Good Luck!

I would check with your guide just to make sure, because they do sometimes have some points that become available like when they exercise their right of first refusal and buy the points back, that's how we got our add-on.ô

Yes, I would definitely check with your guide.
I just closed on a 50 point add-on at BWV on
Feb. 28. I was able to purchase at the $67/point
rate, plus got my same use year AND all of 2000
points were included!!

I was just wondering WHEN did you ask your guide about purchasing more points? Did you go on the "waitlist" if so how long was it before you
heard anything? Did your guide just tell you that it would be 67.00 a point or did you have to ask?
Any other advice you can give would be appreciated. I am disappointed in my guide. He denies any list exists, and made it sound like "if" it did there was no possiblity of us getting any points anyway.

I just asked my guide about this because of a couple posts I had seen. Everyone has 90 days to return papers to Disney. So,if some of the last people buying didn't go through with it, Disney had to wait until probably the end of February to release those points for sale again. There was a wait list and you had to purchase your use year if it was an add on. That's why some people got lucky and they could only charge $67/point.

Peterd: Actually I must have been really lucky when I got the add-on!!! I called in December...
right around the holidays...and asked for a 50 point add-on. My guide said he would see what he
could do. I received the paperwork FedEx in about
a week. Believe me, I was so surprised because I
had heard about the waitlist. He offered me the
$67/point price, even though the rate increase
had already taken effect. Also, getting the entire 2000 allotment surprised me because my use
year is April and I didn't close until Feb. 28. I
was able to apply the 50 year 2000 points and the
50 year 2001 points immediately to a res I have
for April. So really it was a win-win-win situation for me. Just lucky this time I guess!!

KNWVIKING- you can add-on at any DVC resort. The points added will only have the 11 month priority at that resort, but there is no limitation where you may add on. Some have added at HH or VB just to have access to those resorts during busy times...or to use the points towards exchanges, etc. Add-ons offer the opportunity to get quite creative with banking/borrowing techniques to best utilize the program. I believe all resales go back into Disney Inventory as they are not licensed to sell
a resale.

My home resort is OKW. Your saying I can add 50 pts from VWL. Do I now have 11 month window at VWL for a 50 pt trip or can I combine 150 OKW and have 11 month window on a 200 pt trip ?

The 11 month priority would apply only to the points owned at that resort. (In this case 50)

All points can be combined at 7 months.

Through banking and borrowing, that 50 points could be 150 points, if you want to use all three year's points at one time.
