I'm on wiatlist for VWL for 70 points.
Shoudl my guide have already atken a deposit on a CC or no?
Do i pay 20% down or 10%?
Think there is any chance of getting MB at VWL and going ahead with 100 points instead?
I have Dec use year and won't be able to use these poinst before the end of November. What are my options if the waitlist comes thru?
At thsi point I'm awfully close to the August banking deadline. Even if the poinst coem thru will I be able to bank them before I'm closed?
What about if it comes after the banking deadline? I guess I woudl ahve to rent the points out?
Thnaks for any help!

Based on our experience with an OKW add on under similar circumstances:

1) points are not eligible for any incentives
2) if you are past your banking deadlines, they do not let you bank the points
3) no deposit until they actually offer you the points (and you can generally take a few more or a few less points than you listed for)

Thansk. Do you know if you have to put down 10 or 20%?
I got confused cause soem have been reporting getting MB at BCV off the wiatlist.
Did you ahve to rent out your points then?

Last I knew it was 10% down, not including MB. In other words, 10% cash of the total price, then you can apply MB. Of course, this changes from time to time. I think DVC periodically tweaks MB to adjust for sales trends. Only your guide will know forsure what the current rules are for MB, and downpayment.

Good luck...

I think it is 10% if you also use MB. 20% down if you do not or can not.

My guide said the only reason I was able to use MB on BCV pts that came off the waitlist is because they were pts that had been cancelled or someone said they were going to buy them so they were pulled from inventory and then the person changed their mind.

I guess I actually was on a waitlist for these type of points. I did not want to add on at BCV unless I was able to use MB.

Had our VWL pts came through off the waitlist we would have had to put 20% down and no MB.

Have you thought about just adding more at BCV?

If you have your heart set on VWL then I would stick with that. It does sound like you love the place. I know it feels a little strange when they tell you you can't use MB and you have to put MORE down than if you purchased other pts.

We took our names off the VWL waitlist because of the above reasons. We had enough pts there already and didn't want to pay what we would have had to pay for them.

floridafam, did your guide say anything about MB vs banking deadlines? At one point in history, you had to be within your 50% banking window in order to take advantage of MB.

The rules change so fast that I can't keep it straight. I am glad to see that you got the scoop from your guide. That is the best way to do it.

We are within our full banking deadline so I didn't even ask.

I feel pretty lcuky. My guide went into great detail about the waitlist(s) and I owe a lot to him for that.

I think the bottom line is that when a resort is "sold out" it's not technically "sold out" just close or sold out but then people cancel, etc. and those pts become available again.
